It is a day a mourning for fans who enjoy novelizations of the End Times. Reports came in that Tim LaHaye, author of the Left Behind series and leader of the Moral Majority, has passed away at the age of 90 years.

The news of Tim LaHaye’s passing was reported by Christianity Today. According to their report, LaHaye’s family announced his passing, from a stroke he suffered, on his ministry Facebook page. Reportedly, ministry partners, fans, and friends urgently asked for prayers on the eve of LaHaye’s death. Social media was flooded with a wave of prayers and early tributes through End Times prophecy circles and chapters of Concerned Women for America (CWA), the 600,000-member public policy organization founded by LaHaye’s wife, Beverly. Some people even spread the statement made by LaHaye’s daughter Linda pertaining to her father’s condition.

“He will not recover from this, he will soon be graduated to heaven.”

After Tim LaHaye’s passing, David Jeremiah became the new leader of Shadow Mountain Community Church, the San Diego church LaHaye led for the past 25 years. Jeremiah provided a statement on LaHaye after it was made known he had passed on.

“Tim was one of the most godly men I have ever known. Almost every conversation I had with him ended with his praying with me and for me. He wrote me extended letters of appreciation for what God was doing in our church. We shared long lunches together talking about ministry and praying for our nation.”

“When I look back over [his] life, I am reminded of Paul’s words concerning King David: ‘He served his own generation by the will of God’ (Acts 13:36). Tim’s ministry will continue for many years through the books he wrote, the organizations he founded, and the people that he influenced. But I will miss him when I look out from my pulpit next Sunday.”

Tim LaHaye leaves behind a huge legacy especially the one he’s created through his writing. LaHaye came to literature after finding it a far more appealing option after his foray into politics when he was named the co-chairman of Jack Kemp’s campaign back in 1987, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. His is known for writing about the End Times including his The End series which consists of four books, Edge of Apocalypse, Thunder in Heaven, Brink of Chaos, and Mark of Evil. He also wrote the Babylon Rising Series which also consisted of four books, Babylon Rising, The Secret on Ararat, The Europa Conspiracy, and The Edge of Darkness.

Tim LaHaye’s most popular literary work was the Left Behind Series in which he co-authored with Jerry B. Jenkins. The series has been adapted into movies and even a video game. [Image via Tim LaHaye’s Facebook Page]
However, Tim LaHaye’s most famous work of literature was co-penned with Jerry B. Jenkins. Their Left Behind Series has become an international phenomenon in which it was published in numerous languages, adapted into movies, and even made into a video game. The main series consists of 13 books, Left Behind, Tribulation Force, Nicolae, Soul Harvest, Apollyon, Assassins, The Indwelling, The Mark, Desecration, The Remnant, Armageddon, Glorious Appearing, and Kingdom Come. There are even three prequels to accompany the main series, The Rising, The Regime, and The Rapture.

The aforementioned books are probably the most notable within his works, but Tim LaHaye’s legacy is far bigger as he leaves an impact on those closest to him, his family, his friends, and the millions of people he reached out to through his literature.
