Michael Turner should be riding the high of the Atlanta Falcons’ Monday night win as he prepares for next Sunday. Instead, Turner is dealing with a recent DUI arrest.

The Falcons’ running back was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving under the influence. Turner apologized for the arrest today saying that he made a bad decision.

Turner said:

“I’d like to apologize to Mr. Blank (owner), Thomas Dimitroff (GM), Mike Smith (head coach) and the whole Falcons organization and the fans out there for the situation that I’m in right now… It was a bad decision on my part. I can’t say too much about it in detail right now. I’m just trying to move forward from here.”

Turner said that he’s currently preparing for next Sunday. The running back said that no one has told him about any suspension so he expects to be on the field when the Falcons take on the San Diego Chargers.

Turner said:

“Nobody has told me I’m not playing, so I’m going to prepare like I am. I don’t think anybody is more disappointed than I am in myself… I’ve just got to man up. I just want to go out there and play hard. Play hard for my teammates and do whatever I can to help this team win.”

Coach Smith didn’t talk about any suspension but he did say that he was disappointed with his running back.

Smith said:

“First and foremost, any time a player sheds negatively on our football team and on our organization, we are very disappointed.”
