‘The 100’ Season 4: Who Deserves To Live? Plus, Jason Rothenberg On Bellamy [Spoilers]

The 100 Season 4 returns next year. Even though filming has not yet begun, there are still spoilers available. What can fans expect from the Sky Crew and the Grounders? There is the question of who deserves to live after everything that has been done. Also, executive producer Jason Rothenberg revealed some tidbits about Bellamy Blake.

Spoilers for Season 4 of The 100 are ahead. If you do not want to know what will happen in the post-apocalyptic TV show, then stop reading.

Last season on The 100, Alie (Erica Cerra) told Clarke (Eliza Taylor) that in six months, 96 percent of the world would be uninhabitable. The artificial intelligence entity explained that it was due to the power plants. They would cause a nuclear disaster that could wipe out humanity. Some fans thought Alie was just trying to save herself or that it would convince Clarke to join the City of Light. However, Taylor’s character went ahead with her plans and shut down Alie.

It was confirmed that the theme of Season 4 is the nuclear crisis. This was hinted on Instagram several weeks ago. The writers of The 100 gave a clue by posting a scientific equation. More recently, the “sizzle reel” revealed that the characters are in serious trouble. According to HitFix, Jason Rothenberg teased at Comic-Con 2016 that the “Earth strikes back.” The executive producer also stated that the nuclear disaster can’t be stopped or slowed down. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it is coming no matter what. The question now is who deserves to live after everything they have done?

The Sky Crew has changed during the last three seasons. When the teenagers first arrived on Earth, they were naive and didn’t expect to find other people. A century ago, the apocalypse supposedly killed everyone who was left behind. However, that turned out not to be entirely accurate. There were survivors. The descendants of some survived and live out in the open in clans. They are called the Grounders. Then there were others who hid in Mount Weather. It is likely there are other groups, too.

Going into Season 4 of The 100, there will be another apocalypse. If it cannot be stopped and there is no going back into space, then what will the characters do? According to Outer Places, there are not enough lifeboats. This means that not everyone will get to safety and decisions will have to be made on who goes and who stays behind. However, who gets to choose and will it cause a war, especially if the Grounders are told about the nuclear disaster?

In previous seasons, Clarke and Bellamy (Bob Morley) were considered the leaders. During Comic-Con, it was teased that Eliza’s character will struggle with leadership again this season. As for Bellamy, nobody trusts him after his actions. According to Rothenberg, fans shouldn’t count on him being redeemed anytime soon. Even if he were, Bellamy doesn’t believe he deserves to be one of the survivors.

Deciding who lives and who gets left behind to die on The 100 is an impossible task. They have all done things they are not proud of. Even if it was in the name of survival, the Sky Crew still has to live with their choices. Nobody is going to want to be responsible for saving some and killing others. So, will they draw straws or randomly select who survives? Or will they use another method? Fans will have to wait until next year to find out.

What do you think will happen in Season 4? Who will choose who lives and who dies? Will Bellamy choose to stay behind because of his guilt?

There is no premiere date for Season 4 yet. However, expect The 100 to begin airing on The CW network between January and March 2017.
