Did Kristen Stewart Just Blindside Ex Robert Pattinson By Admitting She Is ‘In Love’ With Her Girlfriend?

Kristen Stewart is not hiding her love any longer.

The former Twilight star confessed her love for Alicia Cargile in an interview with Elle UK. Did the revelation blindside her ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson?

Stewart has been notoriously quiet about her love life over the years, which makes her interview all the more surprising. Now, the actress is unafraid to talk about her romance with Cargile, which she contrasted with her previous relationships with men.

“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn’t like it,” Stewart admitted. “We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that.”

Fortunately, the situation changed after Cargile and Stewart started getting serious about each other.

“But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public,” Stewart explained. “It opened my life up, and I’m so much happier.”

According to Hollywood Life, Stewart’s interview did not come as a surprise to her ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.

“Kristen gave Rob a heads up about the interview and he was very supportive,” a source revealed. “He told her he was proud of her.”

Stewart and Pattinson dated for a number of years while working on the Twilight series together. Fans have long waited for them to get back together, despite the fact that they have both moved on with their lives.

Kristen Stewart’s coming out puts a major damper on a future reunion with Pattinson, though her comments are extremely brave and important for the LGBT community.

According to E! Online, Stewart’s comments might even save lives. After all, youth who are lesbian, gay, and bisexual are some four times more likely to end their lives than heterosexual individuals.

At the same time, The Daily Beast is reporting that Stewart is helping make coming out a normal thing to do, especially considering her status as a celebrity.

Meanwhile, Heavy is reporting that Cargile was actually Stewart’s personal attendant when they first met. Over time, they developed a relationship, though it hasn’t been without a fair share of hurdles.

“I think also right now I’m just really in love with my girlfriend,” Stewart candidly said in the interview. “We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together. And this time, I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again.'”

The couple is starting to get serious about their relationship. In fact, Stewart has already introduced Cargile to her mother, who absolutely loved Cargile.

“What’s not to be accepting of her now having a girlfriend? She’s happy…She’s my daughter, I’m just her mom so she knows I would accept her choices,” Jules Stewart said. “I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”

Stewart has been dating Cargile for nearly two years now. However, they did break up last fall and Stewart was spotted hanging out with the French singer Soko.

Despite the minor bumps along the way, it appears as though Stewart is more serious about her relationship with Cargile than any of her past romances.

Hopefully, her comments with help inspire others to feel comfortable with who they are, no matter what their personal preferences are.

As far as Pattinson is concerned, it sounds like he couldn’t be happier for his former girlfriend.

Pattinson is currently engaged to British singer FKA Twigs. An official wedding date has not been announced.
