‘The Hobbit’ Trailer: New Preview Of Peter Jackson’s Adventure Arrives Online


Director Peter Jackson promised a new trailer for The Hobbit last week, and, not surprisingly, he delivered the goods in a timely fashion. Nestled beneath this article you’ll find the latest trailer for the Lord of the Rings filmmaker’s latest cinematic adventure, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. According to Indiewire, the film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters this holiday season.

In case you haven’t heard, this week has been dubbed “Tolkien Week” in order to mark the 75th anniversary J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary adventure The Hobbit. To properly celebrate the occasion, Peter Jackson and company have unleashed a new preview of his upcoming cinematic adaptation. If you’ve been waiting patiently to feast your eyeballs on new footage from the flick, now is your chance to do so.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Hobbit and its plot, the following synopsis should bring you up to speed:

‘The Hobbit’ follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.”

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey stars a number of talented thespians including Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Lost alumnus Evangeline Lilly, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, and Andy Serkis as Gollum. Lord of the Rings veterans Orlando Bloom and Christopher Lee are expected to return to Tolkien’s magical world as well.
