Keshia Knight Pulliam Says Husband Ed Hartwell Cheated On Her As He Demands A Pregnancy Test

Keshia Knight Pulliam is hitting back at her husband, former NFL pro, Ed Hartwell. As Us Weekly reports, Hartwell filed for divorce from Keshia earlier this week after seven months of marriage. The athlete has accused his estranged wife of being unfaithful and requested a paternity test.

But, Keshia says the opposite is true. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former star of The Cosby Show says that Hartwell was the one who cheated on her.

“Early on in my marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave,” the actress said about Hartwell’s alleged cheating. “It’s not OK. In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him. … Once I was pregnant I did decide to give him that one last chance.”

But it seems that that choice backfired on her as Hartwell turned the tables on her and filed for divorce.

“The part that hurt me the most when he filed for divorce was that he had asked me to give him another chance, and I was willing to do that and forgive him, for our family,” she claims.

Pulliam started crying as she discussed the state of her marriage with Entertainment Tonight.

“I don’t know if it’s the hormones … no, it’s all of it, because it’s fresh,” Pulliam said to Entertainment Tonight as she choked back tears. “And it’s hurtful. And I knew I couldn’t be silent, because this isn’t about money. This isn’t about fame. This isn’t about social media likes or follows. This is about my character — my integrity as a woman being attacked — and that’s not OK.”

Keshia said that starting a family was something she and Ed Hartwell had set their sights on. The former linebacker is already a father. He and former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Lisa Wu, share a son together.

“We both wanted to get married, I was not pushing it,” she says of their wedding seven months ago. “This is his baby. He wanted more children. He was excited once he found out that we were having a little girl. There was never a question about that…. No point after we got pregnant was there an issue of the fact that we’re having a baby.”

Although Keshia insists that her husband cheated on her, there may have been other factors that contributed to discord in their marriage.

People Magazine (via Yahoo Celebrity) reports that Knight Pulliam may have been too independent for her husband. An alleged insider source claims that Ed Hartwell really wanted a submissive wife.

“The couple is just not able to agree or see eye-to-eye on anything,” the source said. “Hartwell is very old-fashioned in marital beliefs and how couples should make decisions together, and it seems Keshia is more interested in remaining a successful independent business woman than baking cookies and being a submissive wife.”

As for the pregnancy test that Hartwell demanded, a source previously revealed to People that Hartwell is concerned about the timing of Keshia’s pregnancy.

“It’s just that he had told her he wanted to wait before having a baby and things got really bad between them and then she pops up pregnant,” the source alleges.

According to People, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Ed Hartwell got engaged on New Year’s Eve and tied the knot two weeks after at the former child star’s home.

Keshia gushed about her wedding on her podcast Kandidly Keshia.

“It was my dream,” she said. “We did it literally in our living room in our home… We invited people. They had no clue they were coming to a wedding.”
