WWE News: Nikki Bella Preparing For Her Return To WWE

When Nikki Bella suffered a serious neck injury and Brie Bella retired to start a family with Daniel Bryan, it looked like the WWE career of the Bella Twins had come to an end. With new women coming up from NXT who are accomplished wrestlers, the era of models and Divas looked to be coming to an end as well. The end may be premature, at least for one member of the Bella Twins.

411mania reported that Nikki Bella has returned to the WWE Performance Center and is working on her return to the WWE rings. It may just be a matter of time before Nikki is back wrestling and competing for the women’s title again.

The problem for Nikki Bella is that the WWE’s women’s division has changed drastically since she left. Charlotte helped turn the division around, much like she helped do in NXT. Sasha Banks is the new WWE Women’s Champion, and names such as Becky Lynch, Natalya, and Bayley have changed how people are looking at women wrestlers.

As far as Nikki Bella is concerned, she remains the most talented of the Bella Twins. While Brie Bella is married to Daniel Bryan, and he is one of the best wrestlers to compete in the WWE in years, talent does not rub off onto significant others, as AJ Lee pointed out last year. However, Nikki has been a different story.

Nikki Bella, despite all the heat she receives, actually improved by leaps and bounds over the last year that she wrestled in the WWE. Unlike her boyfriend John Cena, Nikki chose to take the route of the heel, which was smart since she was a horrible face when the WWE pushed her in that direction.

Not only did she perfect the ability to make people actively hate her for all the right reasons, but she was also getting really good in the ring, especially when wrestling good wrestlers such as Paige, Charlotte, and Natalya.

Out of most of the pre-NXT women’s wrestlers in the WWE, Nikki Bella and Naomi are really the only two that really have much of a chance of looking good in the ring with the new breed of women’s wrestlers, now led by The Boss, Sasha Banks.

It was last week that the Bella Twins official Twitter account mentioned good news from the doctors. It also included the photo of the WWE Performance Center, and with Nikki Bella now officially in the ring, practicing, it looks like the return is coming very soon. Nikki had a CAT scan lined up for this past week, so it sounds like everything in her neck has healed up fine.

Now, the question is where Nikki Bella will end up in the WWE. Daniel Bryan is the current general manager of WWE Smackdown Live and that is also where John Cena was drafted to wrestle. With Nikki’s boyfriend already on Smackdown Live and her sister’s husband running the brand, it looks like a good spot for Nikki Bella to end up.

Don’t expect Brie Bella to follow Nikki back to the WWE though. E! News reported that Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan are currently trying to get pregnant.

As for Nikki Bella, a move to WWE Smackdown Live would be a great spot since it could lead her into an immediate feud with Eva Marie, someone who has much the same heat as Nikki Bella, but has nowhere near the same wrestling skills. With their connection on Total Divas, that could be a nice feud that could keep Nikki away from the Women’s Championship, close to John Cena, and back in the ring that she says she loves.
