Holiday Hiring 2012: Kohl’s To Hire More Than 50,000 Seasonal Workers

President Obama has been trying to bring more jobs to the United States economy. Mitt Romney says that he’ll be able to restore order if elected in November. But honestly, if there’s one man that can instantly fix the unemployment problem in America, it’s Santa Claus. Retailers are expected to hire thousands of people during the 2012 holiday season.

Kohl’s said today that it plans on hiring 52,000 seasonal workers this year.

John Worthington, Kohl’s chief administrative officer, said:

“In addition to our quality brands, great values and a convenient shopping experience, Kohl’s is known for providing excellent customer service delivered by our dedicated associates… That commitment to deliver on our customer promise to expect great things is especially important during the holiday season, and we are pleased to be hiring more than 52,700 associates across the country to help our customers and support our stores during this busy time.”

WKYT.com reports that Kohl’s seasonal workers will unload trucks, stock shelves, run cash registers, and process orders. Seasonal workers may work a few hours a day or as much as 20 hours a week. The department store started its holiday hiring process last month and expects to have all of the positions filled by mid-November.
