G-Eazy: Britney Spears Amazed Him With A ‘Hella Wild’ Collab Offer

G-Eazy has attained more fame than any rapper can realistically expect over the past few years, and he now sits somewhere near the top of the hip-hop music industry. Even a shooting star like G-Eazy, though, was pleasantly shocked when he learned that Britney Spears, a pop music legend, was requesting a collaboration with him on her new single, “Make Me (Ooh).”

“It was hella wild,” G-Eazy told Rolling Stone in a recent interview. “I was actually on tour in Australia after the first leg in the U.S. and we got that email that was like, ‘Britney Spears wants to do a song.’ I didn’t know if it was gonna be the single or what. It was just a no-brainer.”

In other words, there was no doubt in G-Eazy’s mind about collaborating with the megastar.

“I was like, ‘Yo, let’s see if there are any studios open here.’ And literally after the show we went and cut it on the spot,” G-Eazy continued.

“That kind of thing you just drop whatever you’re doing to do.”

G-Eazy was certainly right abought the lusted-after nature of a solicitation from the woman Billboard calls a “bona fide pop sensation” and “international sex symbol.” After all, she was nearly unescapable during the late 90s, the period during which 27-year-old G-Eazy entered his preteen years.

When asked whether he was a fan during those years of Britney-mania that still linger today but in a diminished state, G-Eazy answered strongly in the affirmative.

“Of course – I think we all were. Watching the VMAs when we were kids, she was one of the biggest entertainers in the world. And still is,” G-Eazy gushed.

Not only was G-Eazy super starstruck because of the suddenness with which he was confronted with the prospect of getting together with a figure seen as many as a sort of musical goddess, but he was given the amazing opportunity to make his own mark upon a career that he himself had, at one time, followed avidly.

G-Eazy continues that if he had been told as a young man that he would one day be working side-by-side with the “…Baby One More Time” singer, he would have thought he was being taken for a ride.

“I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s pretty insane.”

G-Eazy looks like he can still hardly believe he has his arm around the living legend in the photo the two took with each other when they met.

Britney’s decision to work with G-Eazy is an interesting one considering the fact that her music has hardly ever wandered into hip-hop territory, but it actually makes a lot of sense if you look at the recent history of her career and where Spears wants to take it.

The Inquisitr recently reported that Britney is going for a darker, sexier, more mature sound now that she is finally staging another comeback. Although she has not utilized hip-hop before, the grittier, harsher stylings of genre pros such as G-Eazy might be a big part of Britney’s future discography.

That’s only a theory, though, and G-Eazy confesses he has no idea why Britney Spears chose to reach out to him in particular.

G-Eazy even said his long-time adoration for Britney may have helped him write his lyrics for the single, as he had a lot of love for Spears, a major sex symbol of his generation, that he could let spill from his mind onto the paper in front of him.

“I just wrote it like a conversation I was having with her, you know?” he explained.
