Well, that was fast. On the heels of Mitt Romney’s controversial comments made in a  leaked video from a private fundraiser about “Obama voters”, Obama’s campaign has decided to let Romney’s words speak for itself in an ad that went viral this morning.

The campaign ad is simply titled “47 percent”, which is sponsored by President Barack Obama. The ad shows people reacting in various degrees of outrage over a video of Mitt Romney that details the speech he made at a private fundraiser. In the ad people of all races and classes are featured in the video with the text that reads, “We asked Americans what they thought about what he said to his donors.” One woman on the ad reacted to it by saying,  “That isn’t someone who I’m thinking, ‘Oh I want him as my president’ which is the key that the Obama funded ad wanted to drive home as part of their “truth team”.

In the leaked video Romney appears to be candid which is a far cry from his business-like image he’s upheld until recently. In the original video from the private fundraiser Romney says, “There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.”

It looks as though Mitt Romney’s comments alone has given the Obama campaign quite a head start that they were looking for.
