Levi Cartwright And Jamie Tillack: Dad Throws Knife, Hits 3-Year-Old In Chest — Meant To Hit Boy’s Mom, Police Say

Levi Shane Cartwright and Jamie Leanne Tillack, the dad and mom of a 3-year-old boy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, are facing a wide variety of charges this week after police investigated a domestic violence incident between the couple that took place in July 14 — an incident that ended up with their 3-year-old son with a knife in his chest, according to a report in the Tulsa World newspaper.

The little boy was taken to nearby Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he underwent surgery for internal injuries and was listed in serious but stable condition.

But how the knife came to injure the little boy, and what police later found in the Cartwright and Tillack home — as well as how the mom and dad behaved after the boy was wounded — are what led to the arrests of the couple earlier this week, and to the serious charges they face.

Those charges include a gun, drug possession, and drug trafficking — as well as child neglect.

The whole thing started when Cartwright, 33, and 24-year-old Tillack — his live-in girlfriend and mother of the boy — got into a furious argument.

The argument took place in the bedroom of their home. But according to the arrest report for Levi Cartwright, Tillack tried to walk away, But when she exited the bedroom and began to walk down a hallway in the home, Cartwright grabbed an open folding knife and flung it at the mother of his child.

But the five-inch-long knife did not strike the mom, Instead, the deadly weapon hit the little boy in the chest, inflicting a severe stab wound.

The following video news report from KOKI TV in Tulsa contains further details of the horrifying knife-throwing domestic fight and injury to the child.

The child neglect charge comes not from the knife-throwing incident that sent the little boy to the hospital fighting for his life, but from what Jamie Tillack did right after the boy was stabbed in the torso by the flying knife, according to a report by KJRH TV.

His injuries included damage to both the little boy’s liver and his spleen, according to a report by KTUL TV in Tulsa.

According to police, Tillack herself was not responsible for injuring her toddler son, but after the boy was stabbed by the thrown knife, she failed to report the incident and get help immediately.

Instead, Tillack and Cartwright waited and deliberated as they were “coming up with a cover story,” detectives investigating the case said.

But when they did take the little boy to the hospital, doctors found not only his bloody chest injuries, but also the drug methamphetamine in the child’s system.
