Jinger Duggar Engaged To Jeremy Vuolo: Michelle And Jim Bob Duggar React To Daughter’s Engagement, Prepare For Another Duggar Wedding

It’s official! Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are engaged!

People Magazine exclusively revealed the exciting news on Tuesday, July 26. At the same time, the celebrity news site shared a statement from the newly engaged couple, who said they were very excited to be taking the next step in their relationship.

“So excited to share this news that we are now engaged,” the pair said. “From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during the courtship. We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days.”

Following People’s announcement, the Duggar family shared a statement of their own on their family blog. Of course, the family couldn’t be more excited to start planning another Duggar wedding.

“What a joy for us to announce that Jeremy and Jinger are now engaged to be married!,” Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, Jinger’s parents wrote. “Wow, where did the time go? Sweet little Jinger is now grown up and engaged! We are so happy for them both. Above all, we are so grateful for their love and commitment to Christ. We are so excited about another Duggar wedding! We know that wonderful days are ahead for Jinger and Jeremy and we are looking forward to every moment! Our entire family rejoices!”

Jinger and Jeremy added: “We are overjoyed to be engaged! It was a beautiful moment and we look forward to a lifetime together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been a beautiful and incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the days ahead.”

The news of Jinger and Jeremy’s engagement comes just one month after the pair revealed they had entered into a courtship, which is the Duggar’s way of getting to know one another before going any further in a relationship. Typically, the courtship involves no physical contact, other than an occasional side hug, and chaperoned dates – chaperones tend to be the younger Duggar siblings.

Jinger and Jeremy met last May through Jinger’s sister Jessa, and her husband Ben Seewald. The pair later had the opportunity to travel on mission trips together and apparently really hit it off. Jeremy, who attended Syracuse University and played for Major League Soccer club the New York Red Bulls before retiring in 2014 to focus on his ministry work, said he asked Jim Bob’s permission to court his sixth child, and fourth daughter, in December. Jim Bob gave Jeremy his blessing, and then he and Jinger started courting.

“My heart is full of such joy today to share that she said YES!” Vuolo wrote on his personal website. “We are so delighted to share that we are now engaged. From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during our courtship. We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days.”

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s engagement will likely be one of the main storylines on TLC’s Counting On, a reality show that focuses on the oldest Duggar children. Counting On will return to TLC later this summer. Hopefully, the show will reveal how the couple became engaged – when, where, and how Vuolo proposed.
