In the game, the Falcons jumped to an early 20-0 lead in the first quarter, capitalizing on a trio of interceptions thrown by veteran QB Peyton Manning.

While Manning and company staged a late rally in the fourth quarter to bring the Broncos within a score, the Falcons, led by quarterback Matt Ryan, managed to hold off Denver and earn a 27-21 victory.

For the game, Ryan finished 24-of-36 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns without an interception while Manning ended with 21-of-32 passing for 200 yards with one touchdown and three picks.

McGahee, who, at 30, is in his tenth season in the NFL, scored both of his TDs during the failed fourth-quarter comeback attempt by the Broncos.

“It’s not bad for someone who’s supposed to be 30,” said McGahee, who rushed for over 100 yards for the 31st time in his career. “It’s not bad for someone who’s supposed to be done.”

With the victory, the Falcons (2-0) snapped a six-game losing streak on Mondays, including 0-3 under coach Mike Smith. AOL Sporting News notes that their last Monday win came over New Orleans on December 12, 2005.

Atlanta will next travel to San Diego to face the Chargers at 4:05pm on Sunday, and the Broncos will host the Houston Texans on Sunday at 4:25 pm.
