Did Ariana Grande Split With Ricky Alvarez, The Muse Behind ‘Into You’?

Ariana Grande may have broken free of her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. Fans have been finding clues on the singer’s social media pages which may suggest that she is no longer into the backup dancer.

It seems like there has been trouble in paradise for Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez. According to her Instagram posts and tweets, it looks like the 23-year-old has moved on. Grande, 23, and Alvarez, 25, have been dating on the down low for about a year now. They first sparked the romance rumors when they kissed onstage at a Pride concert and then again on the footage shot inside a donut shop.

Now, it seems like Ariana is single and ready to mingle after she posted some cryptic tweets on Saturday, July 23 before deleting a few of them. In a series of tweets, Ariana distracted her fans by debuting her new haircut, which features bangs. She revealed that she was happy about “change” and “freedom.”

“Change. feelin free. happy. Banginnnnnnn,” the “Dangerous Woman” singer tweeted before deleting it. Next, she posted, “but yeah bangs,” then added, “(not just talking bangs).” Grande’s last tweet was a kissy face emoji, according to a report via Hollywood Life. Grande’s tweet may have indicated that she is ready to be with someone else.

Fans have noticed that Ariana has since deleted her photos of her and her boyfriend on Instagram. She’s been hinting to her fans on Twitter that she’s been making changes in her life, which could be a sign that she broke up with him. And the first thing that most women do after a break up is to dramatically change their hair. Then, Ariana thanked her fans for looking out for her “best interest at heart,” which some speculated that she and Ricky are so over.

In addition, Grande and Alvarez haven’t been spotted together for some time. The last time they were spotted together was at a Saturday Night Live after-party celebrating her headline-making night as a host and musical guest. Insiders revealed to TMZ that Grande and Alvarez had no problem with making out in front of everyone at the bash.

It also seems like Ricky was the inspiration for her new single, “Into You,” as previously reported via the Inquisitr. When she dropped her sizzling music video back in May, fans assumed that it was about her relationship with Ricky. In the video, Ariana has a secret relationship with a bodyguard while publicly dating a famous man. Ariana’s fans assumed that the bad boy bodyguard was portraying Ricky and her celebrity boyfriend mirrored her relationship with rapper Big Sean.

And that’s not the only song that’s about their relationship. Most of the songs on her new album, Dangerous Woman, appear to be inspired by her boyfriend. Even the track, “Knew Better/Forever Boy,” is supposedly about their relationship. Back in May, the “Focus” singer opened up about her relationship with Alvarez to Billboard and said that she wants to keep her relationships out of the spotlight.

“We’re happy. I’m a happy girl. I have a healthy life right now, and I think that’s all anyone cares to know. The end,” she simply stated.

Prior to Alvarez, Grande dated Big Sean for eight months before ending their relationship in April 2015.

According to Hollywood Life, she has been recently spotted on what looked like a date with rapper Mac Miller. The two were spotted in Disneyland California earlier this month, sparking the dating rumors. Ariana and Mac previously collaborated on her breakout hit, “The Way.”

And, according to ET Online, the singer reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Graham Phillips, for a dinner date in Los Angeles. The two previously dated in 2011 while Grande still starred on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, long before her pop career took flight.

On Monday, July 25, Ariana may have dropped another hint that she is single. She posted a black-and-white mirror selfie of herself on Instagram with a cryptic message.
