“Gangnam Style” is the new “Call Me Maybe” with viral tribute videos popping up from all corners of the globe. Whether imitated by California lifeguards (who lost their jobs over it) or being led by PSY himself on the Today show, get used to seeing videos like this from everyone including members of the US Navy.

That’s right, the US Navy.

At least, members of 22nd Company at the US Naval Academy, reports Today. Their “Gangnam Style” video is credited to Mark Vetere of 22nd Company and DoubleBond Productions and is going viral with over 250,000 views on YouTube.

Yes, we’ll show the video, but first: Some history.

Just in case you’re late to the table, “Gangnam Style” has turned into an international craze after Korean singer-rapper Park Jae-Sang, known as PSY, debuted the strange dance. Since the original went viral, countless others have uploaded their very own “Gangnam Style” videos to YouTube much like other groups did with Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe.”

But this isn’t one of those William Hung situations where we’re all laughing at how bad it is while the original artist is blissfully ignorant. PSY is totally in on it, and he’s laughing with us. “[The] mindset of this dance is, dress classy and dance cheesy,” he told Ellen DeGeneres.

“When we made this choreography, we called it ‘horse dance.’ I told [the director], ‘Hey, this is horse dance, so let’s find some horse place,’” PSY said in another interview with Rolling Stone. “In that way, it can be more cheesy. It can be more ridiculous.”
