Luke Pell Reveals He Had Anxiety Attacks After Breakup With ‘Bachelorette’ JoJo Fletcher

Luke Pell and Chase McNary won’t be meeting JoJo Fletcher’s parents. The Bachelorette suitors were both sent packing during the show’s overnight dates in Thailand, and they had very different reactions to their eliminations. While a distraught Luke told JoJo they would never know what they could have had together, Chase walked out in an angry huff.

Luke Pell had trouble opening up to The Bachelorette beauty, but been his last-ditch effort at an “I love you” — he pulled JoJo said during the airport hanger rose ceremony to get those three little words in — proved to be too little, too late. JoJo tearfully let him go, telling him she “missed him already” before he even got into the exit limo. Luke told her they’d “never know what we could have had.”

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Pell said the whole breakup was surreal.

“I think my face said it all,” Luke told THR. “I haven’t felt a relationship go that fast and be that strong, ever. For it to end that way was just really hard to take.”

Luke went on to say he was in a “state of shock” for a couple days after filming of the scene ended. Pell, who is a war veteran, said he even had anxiety attacks after JoJo let him go.

“There was a state of shock that I was in for a couple of days. I was trying to process what happened and I was having anxiety attacks about it. Just trying to cope with the high and the escalation of the relationship that I had just been in, and then the rollercoaster of coming down the other side of that happening just as quickly. Your heart feels like it’s out of rhythm. You’re almost dizzy when you stand up. There were these anxiety symptoms that I was having to deal with that I couldn’t control, so that’s when I knew this cut me deep. Really cut me deep.”

Luke Pell admits that while he was hoping for a once-in-a lifetime love story with JoJo, he may have waited one date to long to tell her that he was I love with her. While Pell is still nursing a broken heart, he did face Fletcher once again at the recent taping of the Men Tell All special. Pell told E! News that he was nervous to see JoJo again after their emotional breakup in the airport hanger, but that he was ultimately able to get closure.

“I was nervous, I’m not going to lie,” Pell told E! “It was the first time seeing JoJo…since the night that I left. It was a little scary. But at the end of the night, I was happy to see that she was at peace and happy with the decisions that she’s made. It gave me some closure, it gave me some peace about what all happened, and I feel good. I feel good about the future.”

Speaking of his future, the Texas native is also a major frontrunner to be the next star of The Bachelor, and if Twitter trends have anything to say about it, he’s a fan frontrunner, too. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Luke Pell revealed that he is in talks to be the star of the next season of the ABC reality franchise and that he’s all in if it’s offered to him.

“It’s a possibility,” Pell said. “I definitely would not pass on it!”
