Tom Hiddleston Was ‘Banned’ From Bringing Taylor Swift To Comic Con? Engagement Rumors Are Swirling

Was Tom Hiddleston unable to bring his new girlfriend, Taylor Swift, as his date to Comic Con?

According to a new report, 35-year-old Tom Hiddleston wanted to bring the singer to the event, but unfortunately, his bosses didn’t want anything to do with the attention that Swift would have attracted.

Tom Hiddleston’s bosses “banned” Swift, 26, from Comic Con as they “feared” there would be a “circus” if the high-profile couple embarked on a joint appearance, a source revealed to The Sun, via a July 24 report by The Mirror.

Tom Hiddleston began dating the singer in June and quickly, their relationship became a hot topic for the media.

At the time their romance began, Swift was newly single after parting ways with former boyfriend Calvin Harris just two weeks prior. So, when photos of the singer kissing Tom Hiddleston hit the web, many were taken aback by how fast she moved on from Harris. Then, as the weeks passed, Tom Hiddleston’s relationship with Swift was proven to be quite serious as the couple enjoyed trips to England, Italy, Australia, and Tennessee. The couple also met one another’s parents just weeks into their relationship.

During his appearance at Comic Con, Tom Hiddleston spoke to People Magazine about how he’s been dealing with the attention he’s been getting in the weeks since his relationship with the singer began.

“I don’t know, it comes down to being authentic,” Tom Hiddleston explained to the magazine. “Everything you do you have to make sure you truly believe in it and as long as you know that, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says about it because the nature of being a public figure is that everyone will have an opinion about anything you do, and as long as you know why you’ve done something and you’ve committed to it with authenticity then you’re okay.”

Prior to the start of Tom Hiddleston’s romance, he and the singer were seen enjoying one another’s company at the Met Gala in New York City in early May. However, because Swift was still dating Harris at the time, no one thought much of their flirty dancing.

In other Tom Hiddleston news, the actor is facing reports of a possibly impending engagement to the singer.

Swift’s new life with Tom Hiddleston “has been a dream come true,” a Swift source told Us Weekly earlier this month. “He’s so romantic, classic and chivalrous, and he’s doing everything right.”

“Tom is planning to propose very soon,” added the insider. And when and if Tom Hiddleston does propose, “She would definitely say yes.”

“Taylor’s totally into [Tom Hiddleston],” said the Swift source. “She is so swept off her feet.”

“Taylor and Tom are in love with each other. He told her she is the kind of woman he wants to spend his life with,” another source told E! News, according to a report by The Sun last week. “They have gotten very close.”

The source went on to reveal that while Tom Hiddleston films Thor: Ragnarok in Australia, the singer has traveled to be with him and is enjoying a break from her hectic career. As for the attention their romance has garnered in recent weeks, the source claimed Tom Hiddleston wasn’t annoyed by the publicity.

“[Tom Hiddleston] has been supporting her and enjoying the time he’s having with her,” the source added. “They’re having a great time and are always laughing.”
