Cynthia Bailey & Peter Thomas Celebrate Sixth Wedding Anniversary With Sentimental Photos

Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas celebrated what would’ve been their sixth wedding anniversary by posting sentimental photos on Instagram Sunday. The pair didn’t pay tribute to their anniversary together, however.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was photographed in the same metallic gown that she wore at her 2010 nuptials.

The caption reads, “We were friends first…@peterthomasrhoa #july24th #weddinganniversary #6years #godsknowsbest #ingodshands #thisjourney #mydress #thisday #beautifulmemories #humbled #grateful #thenextchapter #noregrets #1life2live #prayersandpositivity #godknowsall.”

Peter also paid homage to the anniversary with his own solo photo on Instagram.

He was in a dazzling gray suit with the caption beneath it reading, “July 24 is a day that will forever be a part of me. #AnniversaryLife #CynthiaBailey #BetterOffFriends.”

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Cynthia Bailey filed for divorce and that Peter Thomas was blindsided by the news. The couple separated in 2015. Peter has been living in Charlotte, North Carolina, while Cynthia remains in Atlanta. Both have been living separate lives for some time now, and divorce is on the horizon.

“The more we got used to not being together and living together, the easier this divorce is going to be,” Cynthia told E! News recently. “I don’t want it to be an ugly divorce because I still love Peter. I just don’t want to be married to Peter anymore.”

Peter was rumored to be cheating on his wife, and the pair have encountered their share of marital turmoil. Bailey doesn’t blame RHOA for their split, saying that they would’ve parted ways regardless due to personality differences and incompatibility issues.

In the meantime, Cynthia Bailey is getting all the support she needs from her 16-year-old daughter, Noelle. In an interview with People magazine, the Real Housewives star says she’s doing “awesome” and is determined to have a great year on her milestone birthday in 2017.

“At this point in my life it’s just me and her again,” she says about Noelle. “It’s just back to us. She has been hugely supportive and just a sweetheart with the personal issues I’m dealing with my marriage.”

Cynthia adds that she’s in a “great place” and wants peace now more than anything. She used to say she wants to be happy, but now she wants “peace.”

“I’m turning 50 next year, and it’s a huge milestone for me. It’s really important for me to wake up on my 50th birthday and just love my life – every part of my life. And that’s real

“It’s scary, but there is something very powerful about starting my life over by myself at this age. Some women feel like it’s too late to start over and I don’t think it’s ever too late to be at peace.”

Peter Thomas gave a statement to Uptown Magazine that he never wanted the divorce, but Cynthia does.

“We have discussed divorce. It wasn’t something that I wanted,” Thomas said. “But it is something that I believe she thinks she needs. And honestly, I wish we could have made the public announcement jointly.”

In his statement, Peter went on to defend that he never cheated on his wife or took money from her. He claimed not to know why Cynthia would suddenly slap him with divorce papers when that was never an option for him. In concluding his statement, he added that he’s happy Cynthia has found peace and that he has plenty to keep him busy. He’s currently expanding his business ventures in North Carolina.

In spite of Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas being separated and staring divorce in the face, they respected their marriage enough to post loving tributes to what would’ve been their anniversary date of July 24.
