JoJo hasn’t been able to keep her hands off the 31-year-old war veteran this season, so previews that show her crying over his departure will have everyone dazed and confused.

After all, Us Weekly recently reported that JoJo admitted that their relationship was filled with emotion and passion. What happened between the two potential lovebirds that prompted JoJo to not make Luke one of her final three guys?

Even more confusing? A new report from Zap2It indicates that JoJo and Luke may have created their own version of a Fantasy Suite during hometowns and slept together before the overnight dates rose ceremony.

“During Luke’s hometown date, after seeing the surprise heart-shaped flower display, and the steamy make-out session during their romantic outdoor date, that the two decided to make his home in Texas a stand-in for the Fantasy Suite.”

Add to the mix producers pushing for Luke to become the next Bachelor star and you have one hot, dramatic mess brought to you by ABC.

If JoJo and Luke did hook up during hometowns, did the fact that Luke failed to say he was falling in love with her until the rose ceremony make JoJo rethink her decision to keep him on as one of her final three?

Pure speculation, of course, but it’s something to think about, especially since keeping somewhat boring Chase McNary around for the overnight and sending passionate Luke home is a total shocker.

“When Luke finally told JoJo that he had real feelings for her, the rollercoaster of emotions would totaling send JoJo into a tailspin,” Zap2It’s Emily Bicks writes. “To go from trying to not be super upset that she got intimate with Luke when he wasn’t falling in love with her, to then needing to rework everything she had decided for that night’s rose ceremony… that’s a lot to deal with.”

JoJo wouldn’t be the first Bachelorette star to sleep with a suitor before the overnight dates. However, it’s clear that producers don’t want that to be part of the storyline this season like they did with Kaitlyn Bristowe’s one-on-one date fling with Nick Viall on the last season of The Bachelorette.

According to Reality Steve, Luke is ABC’s top choice for the next season of The Bachelor. The former platoon leader-turned-country singer has a great backstory and is well-loved by fans, so perhaps producers saw him as ratings gold as the 2017 Bachelor and had JoJo send him packing after hometowns.

The theory that Luke slept with JoJo during hometowns may be a little far-fetched, but JoJo appears to be heartbroken over his departure in the upcoming hometown dates rose ceremony, and bringing Chase to the overnight dates just doesn’t make sense.

At the end of the day, The Bachelorette is a heavily-produced television show that is more about ratings than it is about love, so it’s not a stretch to think that producers may have persuaded JoJo to let Luke go after hometowns so they could create a great storyline for him if he is indeed selected as the franchise’s 21st Bachelor star.

Watch the final episodes of the Bachelorette starting with this week’s two-night event. The hometown dates rose ceremony and overnight dates episode will air on Monday, July 26 followed by the Men Tell All special on Tuesday, July 26 at 8 p.m. ET. The season finale is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. ET on August 1 on ABC.
