Comic-Con HQ: Enjoy The Excitement Of Comic-Con 2016 Without Leaving Home, 365 Days A Year!

Taking advantage of Comic-Con HQ means you can enjoy the excitement of Comic-Con 2016 without leaving home. Even better, you have VIP access all year long!

Not everyone has the time or money to attend this year’s event in San Diego, and some people feel uncomfortable around crowds. Whatever the reason for not buying a badge, Comic-Con HQ is coming to the rescue.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the new video on-demand service promises to keep fans entertained 365 days a year. Comic-Con HQ technically made its debut in May 2016. The joint effort between Lionsgate and Comic-Con International features scads of nerd-friendly (original) shows and eclectic movies. In addition, for the remainder of today, live programming is available for your viewing pleasure.

Unfortunately, the free beta period ends today, in correlation with the end of Comic-Con 2016. Seemingly, time really does fly when you’re having fun. However, the subscription price is quite affordable. The current rate is $5 a month or $50 annually.

When asked about Comic-Con HQ’s expected popularity, HQ general manager and executive vice president Seth Laderman made this statement. It sums things up nicely, don’t you think?

“For many years, it was not OK to be a nerd, but Comic-Con allows people to be themselves and be safe. What I tell our team is, ‘We are never mean.’ We need to stay as positive as possible. That is how Comic-Con started, that is what fans like, and that is what we are following.”

If you can’t get enough of cult films such as The Blair Witch Project and American Psycho, animation such as Astroboy, and TV shows like The Avengers, you’ll probably consider this to be an added perk of the service.

The most intriguing thing, however, is Comic-Con HQ’s original programming options. Whether they’re post-production or still under construction, these are all new shows sure to delight Comic-Con fans of all ages.

One example of this is Con Man. Starring Nathan Fillion (Castle) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly), this web comedy showcases the somewhat wacky adventures of two sci-fi cult actors who suddenly find that their series is canceled. Any resemblance to real life is intentional. You can watch Season 1 of the crowd-funded series right now on Comic-Con HQ.

A second example, which is getting a lot of well-deserved attention, is Film HQ. Film HQ, hosted by John Campea, is an informative talk show that centers around the film industry. If you’re into things like movie news, panel discussions, and lists, you won’t want to miss it.

The official Comic-Con HQ Facebook page indicates that the July 4 episode of Film HQ featured casting news in relationship to the upcoming Mary Poppins sequel and an interview with the director of Warcraft, Duncan Jones. As you can see, the talk show is extremely diverse.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, several cast members of Bates Motel participated in just one of many highly-anticipated panels at Comic-Con 2016. Freddie Highmore (Norman), Vera Farmiga (Norma), Nestor Carbonell (Sheriff Romero), and Max Thieriot (Dylan) were all in attendance to answer questions and reveal a clue or two about the upcoming final season.

Although these panels were not streamed live, they were recorded and made available to Comic-Con HQ viewers and subscribers shortly thereafter.
