Ford Mustang Vs. Chevrolet Camaro: Who Reigns Supreme And Who Wants A Special Edition?

Although the Chevrolet Camaro is often rated higher above the Ford Mustang in terms of performance, the Ford Mustang is still considered to reign supreme. The reason is that it continues to outsell the Camaro, and it is the best selling sports coupe worldwide.

NSEAVoice reported that the latest Ford Mustang comes equipped with a 2.3 liter 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine. In spite of the small size of the engine, it packs a lot of power, and it comes at an affordable price. Ford has managed to outperform GM in the sports coupe market because Ford has a global network that GM and Chevrolet do not.

As previously reported in Inquisitr, the Ford Mustang is outselling the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger, and the Mustang’s sales are more than the sales of the Camaro and Challenger combined. Ford posted its best sales figures of the Mustang in 10 years in 2015. With a base prices of less than $30,000, it’s an inexpensive choice for those who want to buy a sports coupe.

Torque News reported that with the worldwide sales, the Ford Mustang comes with differences compared to the models sold in the U. S., particularly for the market in the United Kingdom. It is one of the most popular cars in both the U.S. and foreign markets. In addition to its popularity in the UK, it is also popular in countries like Germany, Italy, China, and Australia.

Most of the differences between the Ford Mustang sold in the U.S. and the model sold in the U.K. are largely external. Many of these features have to do with safety regulations in countries outside the U.S.

Some of the most notable differences include the hood vents on the Ford Mustang GT. The American model has it, while the U.K. model does not. The American model has red tail light covers and a clear backup light, while the U.K. model has clear tail light covers and red bulbs. Mirrors are flatter and wider apart on the American model, while the U.K. version has taller mirrors that are more triangular in shape.

Motor Authority reported that the Ford Motor Company unveiled a line of special edition Ford Mustangs. These were developed for the annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture aircraft show. Called the Gathering of Eagles, the Mustangs will be auctioned off in October. They’re based on the Shelby GT350, and called “Ole Yellar” because of their color.

Ford said that the “Ole Yellar” Ford Mustang was inspired by the P-51D Mustang plane, as well as the pilot, Bob Hoover, a former U.S. Air Force pilot who flew the P-51D as an official pace and safety plane at the Reno National Championship Air Races. Hoover flew over 1,000 flights in the plane dubbed “Ole Yellar.”

The donations from the auction will go to the EAA to help finance education programs. So far, the auctions of the special edition Ford Mustangs have raised $3 million for the EAA to help support education.

The Ford “Ole Yellar” Mustang features a custom painted exterior that includes the “Ole Yellar” accents. It’s powered by a 5.2-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine with Flat Plane Crank. This is the most powerfully aspirated Ford Mustang engine that Ford has produced. Additional specifications include 526 horsepower with 429 pounds of torque. It is rounded out with a 6-speed transmission and a sports suspension.
