Liam Payne Snubs Anniversary As Louis Tomlinson’s Mum Tells First One Direction Photo Story, Harry Styles Praised By Mark Rylance

Liam Payne sparked fears of a One Direction feud this week when he failed to join Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan in sharing a message about the band’s six-year anniversary on social media.

“Surely there’s no feud?” asks Hollywood Life, noting that Liam Payne has just signed a solo deal and could well have been busy in the studio on the sixth anniversary day.

“However, that’s all well and good, but Liam has yet to recognize the anniversary? There’s been no word from him, so we can only assume he’s busy in the studio working and hasn’t got round to it yet. Surely, there’s no feud?”

Daily Mail reports that this behavior is out of character for Liam. Last year, on the band’s fifth anniversary, Liam was the first of the One Direction boys to take to Twitter and mark the occasion.

“Liam Payne was first to take to Twitter to pay tribute to the group five years after they were put together on The X Factor… He wrote: ‘Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey I couldn’t thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis Niall Harry and Zayn for everything.'”

A key Liam Payne update account made a statement about negativity towards Liam, reminding fans that “time and time again, Liam has been there for the fandom when the fandom has needed him.” The account stresses that Liam is going through many changes in his life right now and things are probably “incredibly busy, scary and exciting” in Payne’s world.

Liam expressed his love of One Direction just this week when he made a statement about the signing of his solo deal with Capitol Records.

“One Direction will always be my home and family, but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings,” Payne wrote.

Liam has been focusing on his relationship with girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini since the One Direction hiatus began, and some reports even claimed that Payne’s friend was concerned that he was putting Cheryl ahead of his career at a critical moment that will determine his success as a solo artist. Fans observed that it has been a long time since Liam had a known songwriting session with his One Direction brother Louis Tomlinson.

The other guys all sent out tweets thanking One Direction fans for their support yesterday, and Louis Tomlinson even recorded a video message, calling the continuing support of One Direction fans “remarkable.”

Louis’ mum Johannah hit Instagram to share some details about the day Louis was put together with Harry, Liam, Niall and Zayn on the X Factor.

Johannah described how Louis told her on the phone that he’d been put in a band before the line dropped out. She explains that they eventually found each other outside Wembley Area, where Louis gradually picked the other guys out of the crowd so Johannah could take the first ever One Direction picture.

Niall Horan marked the One Direction anniversary by writing, “6 years. wow! As Louis touched in his message, each one of you have played in a part in changing lives… You are the best fans in the world as you know.. Thank you so much for everything so far.”

“All the support has been incredible. So lovely to see. You make me proud… Read so many amazing tweets from you guys! Thanks for sharing the memories with us.. Here’s to many more,” Louis Tomlinson wrote.

“Six years. I have no idea how to say thank you for all your support. For everything you are, and everything you’ve done, thank you. H,” Harry Styles wrote.

Harry is still filming for World War II feature Dunkirk, and Evening Standard reports that Shakespearean actor and director Mark Rylance said some positive words about Harry in an interview, calling Styles funny, handsome, brave, witty, lovely and remarkable!

“What’s really surprised me is he’s really witty, really funny — he really makes me laugh. He’s been ever so brave, not making any fuss… He seems remarkable… one of those people [who has] — Sean Penn has it too — a kind of panache. I look at them and think, ‘How did you get that? How do you get so that life is easy?’ But he has got a lovely, lovely character. It’s a gift.”

The actor spoke about Harry Styles’ acting skills, saying, “No, he doesn’t need tips. He is shaping up.”

This is high praise, indeed — Rylance has been described as “the greatest English theater actor of his generation,” reports Vanity Fair.
