French champions Paris Saint-Germain travel to the United States to face Italian powerhouse Inter Milan Sunday in an International Champions Cup friendly match that will stream live — the first of eight International Champions Cup matches scheduled for the United States over the next two weeks.
The International Champions Cup showcases many of the world’s greatest club teams in preseason friendlies in the United States, Europe, China and Australia, allowing fans in countries where they would normally be unable to see the global elite club teams play live to watch the legendary sides in action, in person.
Also in action on United States turf between July 24 and August 3 will be German Bundesliga perennial champions Bayern Munich, English Premier League miracle title-winners Leicester City, and the two Spanish clubs featuring the top two players on the planet — Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid, and Spanish rivals Barcelona led by magical goal-scorer Lionel Messi.

Another top Italian team, AC Milan, will face English Premier League four-time champions Chelsea in the United States as well, on August 3 in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, Barcelona and Real Madrid will not meet in a stateside version of El Clasico, however.
Both Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain come into the match in Oregon with one preseason friendly already under their belts. The French club defeated English side West Bromwich Albion 2-1 in Austria on July 14.
Inter Milan and Manager Roberto Mancini played in the United States, downing Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake, also by a 2-1 tally.
The two teams last squared off on December 30 in an international friendly match, with Paris Saint-Germain getting the better of that one, 1-0. Watch highlights of that match in the video below.

“This is a very important tournament for us in terms of preparation for Ligue,” new Paris Saint-Germain Manager Unai Emery said on Saturday. “The opponents we have are very challenging, great rivals. We understand these are going to be difficult matches, but it will get us prepared for the future. We’re here to win games, and if that happens we are satisfied with that result.”

While Paris Saint-Germain has won an incredible four straight Ligue 1 titles, the last three straight came under the regime of Laurent Blanc, who quit the job after last season. Emery is charged with continuing the Paris club’s domination of the French top flight.
Inter Milan have won Italy’s tough and grueling Serie A 18 times, but none since the 2009-2010 season, last season placing fourth on the Italian top division table.
