‘Frustrated’ Selena Gomez Breaks Down On Stage, Posts Mysterious Message On Instagram
Selena Gomez was seen visibly upset during the encore of her first stop on her “Revival Tour’s” international leg, and later took to Instagram to capture her feelings, multiple media outlets are reporting.
Selena — who was performing at the Jakarta’s Indonesia Convention Exhibition arena on Saturday, July 23 — wiped tears from her eyes when Gomez returned to the stage for her final performance, Us Weekly reported. The outlet provided a Twitter video that captured her introduction to the encore song “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” that showed Gomez distraught while discussing her feelings.
“The next song, before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me. Because I get really frustrated. I get stupid sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong just because I care so badly. But the thing is, at the end of the day, no war in anger was ever won. I do know that deep down in my heart that I have to believe that we can love each other and always be kind no matter what it takes in us. I believe that we can do that, no matter what.”

The outpouring of emotions didn’t stop once Selena Gomez exited the stage. Shortly thereafter, Selena took to Instagram to express her thoughts, suggesting that Gomez will spend some time reevaluating specific aspects of her life in the near future.
“Tonight I felt extremely unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music. I’ve never really felt like my materials, wardrobe or a video could define me. I act on a moment and fear something that hasn’t happened. I’m stagnant, I stay still and don’t just sit with myself first and ask ‘is this where I am, whole heartedly?’ I’ve always told the truth. I’m always true to my word, I’ve shown who I am but I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally. had to get that out.”

While no concrete answers have emerged about her mysterious actions and message, some media outlets have speculated as to what caused the emotional outburst from Gomez. Us Weekly has suggested the drama surrounding friend Taylor Swift with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be partially to blame, due to the backlash Gomez received from expressing her opinion.
Specifically, the harsh criticisms that Selena was subjected to did not come from either Kim or Khloe Kardashian — unlike other unfortunate celebrities. Instead, followers were the ones seeing red after Gomez pondered openly on Twitter, “why can’t people use their voice for something that f–king matters?” The followers’ disparagement stemmed from perceived hypocrisy as Selena has not used her large social media following to take stands on hot-button topics.
A second theory that emerged was from Refinery29, suggesting that Gomez was upset the day after turning 24 years old. The article questioned why none of the famous friends Selena surrounds herself with had taken the time to wish Gomez a happy birthday through social media despite the fact most of the individuals — including Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson — had posted items on Friday. Late in the day, Taylor Swift did post a throwback picture of herself and Selena Gomez to recognize her friend’s birthday, her first Instagram post since the Kanye West video emerged.
Selena Gomez had a night off from the tour before returning to the stage on Monday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Billboard reported.
