‘Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Negan’s Victim And An Awesome New Character

Comic-Con took place this week, and Walking Dead fans finally got what they’ve been waiting for – some spoilers, thanks to an awesome new trailer for Season 7. We also learned just how long we’re going to have to wait for new episodes of The Walking Dead – October 23. Just in time for all your Halloween zombie fun. Who met their end with a fierce beating from Negan and his barbed-wire baseball bat Lucille? Of course, the trailer doesn’t give us a spoiler on this one, but it did give us a sneak peek at a couple of awesome characters. One that many found literally jaw dropping. Let’s go!

Of course, Walking Dead fans are eager for spoilers about who Negan killed. The trailer begins with ominous music and audio from the Walking Dead Season 6 cliffhanger that got everyone talking. Negan says, “I’m gonna beat the holy hell out of one of you,” and we get our hopes up for a spoiler or two. We proceed into flashbacks from previous seasons of TheWalking Dead of the characters who were his possible victim, but unfortunately, showrunners did not provide any spoilers on this hot Walking Dead subject. The show’s panel at Comic-Con included Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes though, and he promised that fans will learn who bites the dust in the season premiere in what he called “a really s***** start to the season.”

What the Walking Dead Season 7 trailer did do, however, is give some great spoilers about a couple of new characters and the place they call home. As reported by Rolling Stone, we get our first look at Ezekiel and his pet tiger, Shiva. Yes, a tiger. How awesome is that? The dashing Khary Payton plays Ezekiel, a Walking Dead character that Comicbook describes like this.

“Ezekiel is the leader of a community called The Kingdom… Ezekiel leads the group with a level headed approach but distances himself from the community by calling himself the king, acting like a king, and keeping a pet tiger.”

They also provide some Walking Dead spoilers as they describe what we can expect if the show follows the comics.

“… we can expect to see Ezekiel link up with Rick Grimes and help our beloved survivors rise from the ashes and eventually battle against Negan’s rule… Eventually, he and Michonne end up in a relationship which will be an interesting story point on television, seeing as Michonne ended up being Rick’s gal.”

The new Walking Dead trailer also includes one scene that’s funny, in a sort of creepy way. There’s a shot of Carol who is smiling and says “I don’t know what the hell’s going on, in the most wonderful way.” Ummm… okay. International Business Times comments that there are spoilers about Carol in the new Walking Dead trailer. It seems to suggest that she and Morgan will be rescued by Ezekiel’s men. Will they help rescue Rick and the gang from Negan?

So Walking Dead is about to show us two new major characters, characters who reportedly are at odds with each other. Producer Gale Ann Hurd described this season like this.

“It’s getting more complex. We’re going to find more people we haven’t met before, living in the apocalypse and figuring out how to survive. Our characters will be meeting both friend and foe. We’re gonna see leaders with different styles, and how they work… some benevolent, and some not so benevolent.”

There’s so much to come in TheWalking Dead. We may not have a lot of spoilers yet for the upcoming episodes, but we can already tell that they will be just as exciting as ever. Check out the trailer below.
