Fourth Tropical Depression Strengthens To Form Tropical Storm Claudette

Miami, FL (AHN) – A fourth tropical depression formed Sunday morning and strengthened to tropical storm Claudette. The storm is heading toward the Florida panhandle and Alabama.
The system formed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico out of a series of rain and thunderstorms that soaked south Florida all day Saturday.
A tropical storm warning was issued for the coasts of Alabama and Florida panhandle.
The system is expected to contain winds up to 55 miles per hour, but will be mainly a rain event, forecasters said.
The storm will likely hit the coast at around 2 a.m. Monday morning.
