SDCC2016: HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Panel Reveals Many Secrets, Plus A Hilarious Bloopers Reel From Season 6

San Diego Comic-Con is the place to be if you want all the exclusives on your favorite TV shows. HBO’s Game of Thrones panel has just presented, and here’s absolutely everything we know so far about Season 7.

  • Isaac Hempstead-Wright reveals he will certainly be spreading the word about Jon Snow’s (Kit Harrington) true parentage when Game of Thrones returns. According to TVLine, Isaac had this to say on the matter during Comic-Con: “It’s imperative that he spreads the word. I presume he’ll somehow tell Jon, but I’m not sure how he’ll respond when Bran shows up and says, ‘I’m a Tree Wizard and your dad isn’t your dad.'” It will be very interesting to see how Jon takes the news. It will also shake things up a little for his “sister,” Sansa Stark, who probably thinks she is higher up on the heir chain than Jon Snow.

  • Speaking of Sansa Stark, the actress who plays her, Sophie Turner, was also present during the Game of Thrones panel at Comic-Con. She certainly thinks her character has more right to rule the North than Jon, but puts it down to having more experience in the matter. After all, Sansa was raised a noble woman, Jon was raised a bastard. “I’m not sure she thinks Jon is capable of running Winterfell and the North… She doesn’t think he has the intellect, the knowledge and the experience that she has, and I concur,” Entertainment Weekly reports. TVLine also reports that Sansa was more interested in gaining credit for the knights of the Vale and that’s why she didn’t tell Jon about her wildcard before the Battle of the Bastards.
  • Director Miguel Sapochnik will not be returning for Season 7 of Game of Thrones. Sapochnik was responsible for the final two episodes of Game of Thrones sixth season, “The Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter.” He is hoping to be asked back for the final season of Game of Thrones, Season 8.

  • Kristian Nairn was genuinely overwhelmed about the reaction to Hodor’s death.

“It has been overwhelming. I did not expect it to be so crazy. I’m really, really flattered as well. It’s blown my mind. I was in LA a few days ago at a hotel, and all their door stops said ‘Hodor’ on them. I went, ‘Really?’ It’s been incredible. The scene was incredibly written and directed. I knew I was going to be killed, but I didn’t expect the outpouring of emotions.”

  • Faye Marsay, who played the Waif in Season 6 of Game of Thrones, confirmed at the Comic-Con panel that Arya and the Waif are not the same people. It seems this fan theory is still hanging around and had to be cleared up once and for all.
  • Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had to also reinforce the rationale behind the Season 7 delays. “Winter is here and we gotta shoot where there are trees … and we’re waiting to shoot later in the year so we won’t finish shooting until February and there’s no way to get the show out there until summer,” Benioff explained during the Comic-Con panel.
  • Nathalie Emmanuel (who plays Missandei) suggests her character’s journey will continue by Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) side into Season 7 of Game of Thrones.
  • Finally, HBO released a bloopers reel from Season 6 of Game of Thrones at Comic-Con this year. You can enjoy the bloopers reel below, but be aware as swearing abounds and Peter Dinklage finds one word incredibly impossible to pronounce.
