Jesse Wilson: Search For Arizona 10-Year-Old Missing Since Sunday Continues [Video]

The search for missing Arizona 10-year-old Jesse Wilson is still ongoing on Friday. Law enforcement and volunteers are working in tandem to try to find Jesse after he disappeared from his bedroom late on Sunday night. According to local investigators, Wilson is believed to have sneaked out of his bedroom window sometime after 9:30 p.m. local time Sunday.

As Fox News reports, the search for Jesse Wilson began after his family realized he was no longer in his bedroom. He was last seen at 9:30 p.m., and the Arizona child reportedly had a history of sneaking out of the house. According to his family, while Jesse Wilson had sneaked out of his room before, he has never stayed out for “an extended period of time before.” The family had also never before had to mount a search for the missing boy.

According to media reports, the search for Jesse Wilson, involving both volunteers and law enforcement, has been going on continuously, nearly 24/7, since the child disappeared. Wilson’s home is also very near Skyline Regional Park as the destination is roughly a half-mile away from where Jess Wilson went missing, and the search at the park has been extensive.

Police have also utilized the services of hikers to sift through the rugged area around the Wilson home in Buckeye, Arizona.

So far, despite search efforts, no sign of missing Jesse Wilson has been discovered.

On Thursday, the Jesse Wilson search effort was aided by professionals from both the Arizona Rangers and Buckeye SWAT, and the FBI was also spotted at the Wilson home.

It has been reported by KPNX News that over 200 volunteers showed up to assist in the search for Jesse Wilson on Thursday. However, due to heat-related concerns, law enforcement was forced to suspend the bulk of the search and send nearly 100 search volunteers home to protect their health. Buckeye police sergeant Jason Weeks said he was blown away by the outpouring of public support in the search for the missing child.

“I was very taken back yesterday when I saw 200 people come out and then another 80 came out this morning. We’re sorry we had to shut it down, because of the heat concern.”

After the FBI joined the search for Jesse Wilson on Thursday, the decision was made to largely discontinue the use of civilian volunteers in the search effort. There were reportedly multiple reasons for that decision. Authorities were concerned about the health and well-being of searchers following Thursday’s heat stroke scare, and authorities have not ruled out foul play in the disappearance of Wilson.

Local police have advised the public that they are still in charge of the investigation regarding and search for the missing child, and the FBI’s involvement in the case is merely protocol. They have also said that they boy’s mother has been interviewed by law enforcement and may be interviewed again as the investigation into the disappearance of Jesse Wilson continues.

Potential foul play is still being considered, and no one has been named a suspect or ruled out as a suspect in the disappearance yet.

The missing boy was a student of Goodyear’s Bradley Academy, and according to the school’s president, Daniel Hughes, staff and students are devastated that Wilson is missing. The child reportedly has a “very close connection” to the school.

“He’s very charismatic, very friendly and very outgoing.”

Missing Arizona 10-year-old Jesse Wilson is described as being a fairly small child. He is only about 4 feet tall and weighs roughly 60 pounds. The last time he was seen, Wilson was wearing a red shirt, shorts, and black shoes and socks.
