‘Arrow’ Cast At Comic-Con International 2016 — Everything You Need To Know Before Their Panel

The cast of Arrow is headed back to Comic-Con.

When the biggest comic event of the year finally begins soon in San Diego, a host of superhero films and TV shows casts will host panels to reveal behind-the-scene secrets and spoilers. Warner Bros. has announced an impressive list for this year’s attendees, including The 100, The Flash DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Originals, People of Earth, Powerless, Riverdale, Supergirl, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries.

But one show, in particular, gets fans excited, and it has become a staple at Comic-Con over the past few years, and that’s the panel for the CW’s Arrow.

According to Comic Book News, Arrow will be returning to Comic-Con for the fifth consecutive year with both the cast and crew, including Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen). Perhaps even a few spoilers will be teased for the upcoming fifth season. It has also been reported that the lively panel will also include a video presentation.

But before the cast gathers to answer fans burning questions, let’s recap what happened on Arrow last season.

Screen Crush reports that Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), a crazed mystic with supernatural powers, threatened the world nuclear destruction.

Darhk was able to launch thousands of nukes across the planet, but Oliver Queen was able to unite his beloved city with a message of hope that allowed him to finally defeat the biggest evil of Season 4 once and for all as Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) dealt with the nukes.

But defeating Damien Darhk came at a high price for the saviors of Star City as Team Arrow was left broken and hanging in the balance.

As the show moves on to Season 5, Oliver Queen will be forced to save his city from a new threat, a threat that his own hands helped created, as both newly appointed Mayor and the Green Arrow. As for the rest of the characters of Arrow, they too shared in the fallout of Damien Darhk.

Entertainment Weekly recaps what happened to the other members of Team Arrow. Lance (Paul Blackthorne) was fired from the Star City Police Department, and afterwards, he chose to leave town with Felicity’s mother, Donna (Charlotte Ross).

Also, Thea, Oliver Queen’s sister, quit Team Arrow to go soul searching, and one of the team’s very first members and closest friend to Oliver, John Diggle (David Ramsey), decided to reenlist.

With the events of Season 4 shaking up Team Arrow, leaving them scattered in the wind, only Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak remain to pick up what’s left after Oliver becomes the mayor. Despite being broken-up, Felicity made it clear to Oliver that he is not the lone member of Team Arrow. But can Olicity work out their issues and get back together?

As previously teased, Season 5 could consist of a villain connected to Oliver’s past — Kovar. The Russian character was quickly mentioned in the flashbacks, and fans will finally get to know how Oliver got involved with the Russians and joined the Bratva.

Although Team Arrow was left scattered, a few new members will be joining the show for Season 5. Echo Kellum (Curtis Holt) has been promoted to series regular, and Madison McLaughlin will be returning to the show to reprise her role as Evelyn Sharp.

Other new members include Chad L. Coleman portraying a new villain, Tyler Ritter as Detective Malone, Rick Gonzalez will play Wild Dog, Carly Pope as a new Star City reporter, and Josh Segarra as the new Vigilante that will aid Oliver Queen.

Of course, fans are also yearning to know what Laurel told Oliver before her Season 4 death.

The highly-rated Arrow has also given birth to spin-offs, including The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, all of which will be at this year’s Comic-Con, reveals Fox 5 San Diego.

What do you think? Will any spoilers be revealed for Arrow’s upcoming season at this year’s Comic-Con? Let us know in the comments, and check out last year’s panel in the video below.
