Caitlyn Jenner Says Kris Jenner ‘Brought Her Back To life,’ And Her Kids Are Her ‘Greatest Accomplishment’ [Video]

Caitlyn Jenner has continued to participate in campaigns and act as an advocate for the LGBT community regardless of some ridicule and backlash following the reality star’s transition from her former identity as Bruce Jenner. Most recently, the I Am Cait star can be seen in a new campaign for H&M that involves Cait discussing the biggest moments in her life. One such moment involves when Caitlyn and ex-wife Kris Jenner met.

It’s no mystery that Caitlyn and Kris have experienced ample drama in their relationship since the time that Jenner made the decision to transition. However, the former Olympic star has kind words for her ex in the H&M video that lasts roughly 6 minutes in duration.

Entertainment Tonight quotes Caitlyn from the campaign video.

“In the ’80s, I was really down in the dumps. I didn’t know which way my life was going at that point. Set up on a blind date by a friend, she [Kris] had a great sense of style, of class, and I give a lot of credit to Kris for kind of bringing me back to life.”

The reality star not only shared kind words about Kris, but she also made mention of the fact that her children, two of which she had with Kris, are her greatest accomplishment, far and above any Olympic medal. Jenner has six children from two marriages — Burt, Brandon, Casey, Brody, Kendall, and Kylie.

The publication shares Jenner’s words.

“The greatest thing in my life I’ve ever done — barring the Games, barring anything — is children. I have never been more proud as you can be as a dad, to see what they’ve been able to do with their lives. My kids, by far, are my greatest accomplishment — better than a medal.”

Caitlyn admits to having struggled with gender identity issues her entire life and shares that she simply has no regrets since her transition and reveal by way of a Vanity Fair cover story last year. The star admitted that it forced her to simply throw Bruce out and take on life full tilt as Caitlyn.

“To be honest with you, the media threw old Bruce right out the door, he was gone, OK?” she says about the reaction to the now famous cover. “This Caitlyn character’s a lot more interesting! And I knew from that point on, I had to live my life as Caitlyn.”

Jenner adds that it simply is the greatest victory to be able to wake up every morning and to just be yourself. It is certainly an inspiring story that has been a hot topic in the media since last June when Bruce became Caitlyn.

However, as noted, Caitlyn has received quite a bit of backlash within the LGBT community, seeing as many feel she is not a good representation or advocate because she is out of touch with the true struggle many endure following coming out or transitioning. Jenner has also made a number of statements that have perplexed individuals within the community and led to questioning what her ambitions are as an advocate, with some claiming she lacks the true understanding of issues that present themselves.

Earlier this year, several activists within the LGBT community who were not fans of Jenner spoke out about the reality star and her agenda. Most recently, Caitlyn said that revealing she is Republican and a Trump supporter has been more difficult than coming out. According to the Mirror, the star spoke at a convention where she defended the Republican platform and then shared that “[i]t was easy to come out as trans. It was harder to come out as a Republican.”
