Ezekiel Elliott Domestic Violence: Dallas Cowboys Rookie Denies Hitting Ex-Girlfriend [Report]

Ezekiel Elliott has been accused of domestic violence. The Dallas Cowboys rookie running back has been named in a recent police report in which his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, claims that she was assaulted by him. According to TMZ, Elliott has denied these claims.

The police report was filed in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday morning. In said report, Thompson states that she was in the driver’s seat of her car when the 21-year-old first round pick assaulted her. Police who responded to the initial complaint made note of a “red mark” on the female’s wrist and said that she complained that she was in pain but that she refused medical treatment. Since that time, Thompson has posted photos of her alleged injuries on her Instagram account.

Ezekiel Elliott was notified of the domestic violence complaint, but he quickly denied attacking or hitting Thompson. Police say that the 20-year-old woman told police that she had dated Elliott and that the two had lived together. Elliott told police that he never lived with Thompson.

According to the report, police were able to speak with four witnesses, one of whom was reportedly in the vehicle at the time of the alleged attack. None of the witnesses told police that they saw an assault occur.

Ezekiel Elliott was not arrested because police received conflicting reports on what happened (or didn’t happen) in Thompson’s car. If Thompson wishes to press charges, she will have to follow up with the local Ohio prosecutor’s office. For the time being, Ezekiel Elliott remains a free man as the investigation into the domestic violence allegation continues.

According to Deadspin, the police reports have been released to the public as has the 911 call that was made by Ms. Thompson.

“In the call, the woman said she had called earlier about domestic violence and now she wants an officer to come to the scene. She was going to wait until tomorrow, when he left, to report it. The dispatcher cuts her off before she can explain why she changed her mind. She said she has bruises, has been hit ‘all over,’ and he’s ‘been doing it for the past five days.’ She said she did not need a medic.”

Ezekiel Elliott has not released a statement on these domestic violence claims, nor has the Dallas Cowboys organization. The media has been trying to reach out to Elliott’s people for comment but only got a short statement from someone in his agent’s office.

“I can assure you [the allegations] are not true,” said the unnamed person.

Ezekiel Elliott, the former Ohio State Buckeye, is already leading the league without yet having stepped onto an NFL field. CBS Sports reports that the celebrated No. 4 pick is setting the pace on jersey sales. His Dallas Cowboys No. 21 is No. 1 in sales since April, not just among incoming rookies, but across the entire league.

Further details on the Ezekiel Elliott domestic violence claims are expected soon.

Update

According to Bleacher Report, Ezekiel Elliott has text messages on his phone from Tiffany Thompson that supposedly prove that she is trying to set him up. It is currently unknown, however, what these text messages say.

Football fans may recall the drama surrounding a video that surfaced back in 2014 that appeared to show then Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice assaulting his then-fiancee. As the NFL investigated that case, they will do the same in this one.
