Ivanka Trump Explains Her Special Bond With Half-Sister Tiffany Trump

Ivanka Trump says she has a close relationship with Tiffany Trump, despite the fact that her half-sister was raised 3000 miles away from the rest of the family. In an interview with People, Ivanka revealed that after Donald and Ivana Trump’s explosive split in 1991, her parents protected her and her brothers from the tabloid fallout. Ivanka also said she shares a special relationship with Tiffany, her father’s 22-year-old daughter with Marla Maples, who was raised in California.

In the interview, Ivanka explained that her while younger sister was raised in California by Maples, they still had a close relationship.

“We would see each other on all of the holidays and talk to each other frequently,” Ivanka told People. “She’s my little sister! I’ve been close to Tiffany her whole life, and I really love her.”

Ivanka Trump admitted that she is not close with Maples, whose affair with her father Donald was the reason behind her own parents’ divorce,

“I’m not [close with Marla],” Ivanka said. “She was out in California and really my relationship is with Tiffany.”

Tiffany Trump moved to the East Coast to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated in May. She now lives in New York City, so she is much closer to Ivanka and her three Trump brothers, Donald Jr., Eric, and Barron.

“It’s wonderful because she’s right here in New York,” Ivanka said. “She’ll come with [me and Jared to our country house] on weekends sometimes, and she’s always with my kids. She’s a really good person.”

Ivanka Trump’s father was married to Marla Maples from 1993 to 1999, but Marla moved to California with their daughter following the split. Tiffany had little time with her father and her Trump siblings when she was a child, but they all bonded together as adults, especially for their father’s presidential campaign.

In an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Tiffany Trump revealed that she is close with all of her siblings and was even a bridesmaid at Ivanka’s wedding to Jared Kushner. Ivanka Trump also attended her sister’s recent graduation at the University of Pennsylvania.

While Tiffany grew up on the other side of the county, Ivanka was by her father’s side as a boardroom judge on the NBC reality show, The Apprentice. Donald is so close to Ivanka that he once joked to the panel on The View that he would date her if she weren’t his daughter.

“I don’t think Ivanka would do that inside the magazine,” Trump said when asked if Ivanka would ever pose for Playboy. “Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps, I would be dating her.”

Trump later issued a statement that he was “absolutely joking” and “making fun of himself for his tendency to date younger women,” according to USA Today.

While Donald commented on Ivanka’s “very nice” figure, he came under fire 22 years ago when he made an odd comment about Tiffany’s body as well. On a 1994 episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Trump made a crack about his then one-year-old daughter’s future assets.

“I think that she’s got a lot of Marla, she’s really a beautiful baby,” Trump said to Lifestyles host Robin Leach. “She’s got Marla’s legs.”

“We don’t know whether or not she’s got this part yet but time will tell,” Trump added, as he put his hands in front of his chest to represent breasts.
