Manchester United Transfer News: Paul Pogba Set To Return To Manchester United In $120m Deal From Juventus

Manchester United are set to seal a sensational deal with Italian club Juventus to bring back former youth graduate Paul Pogba, which will make the deal the most expensive in football history.

According to the Daily Mail, Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, traveled to Miami to meet his client, where Pogba is currently enjoying summer break, to finalize the details about the imminent deal with Manchester United.

Juventus’ reluctance to sell their star man hindered the deal between the two giants of world football, Manchester United and Juventus, about the transfer of the most wanted man in world football right now. But having secured an agreement with Napoli for the transfer of Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, Juventus were willing to sit in the table for negotiations regarding Paul Pogba.

The demand from Juventus camp was pretty simple and conspicuous: anyone who wants Pogba will have to pay the record sum for the transfer, surpassing the $110 million sum Real Madrid paid when Gareth Bale moved to the Spanish capital.

Since the appointment of Jose Mourinho as new head coach of Manchester United, the club has spent big to attract some of the best players in the world. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailey have joined the club in multi-million deals, and the splurge is set to continue with Pogba likely to return to his former club.

Juventus’ current manager Massimiliano Allegri, when asked about the deal between United and Juventus, did not deny the agreement between two clubs, saying, “Pogba is a Juventus player at the moment but we don’t know what is going to happen. The club are looking after negotiations,” as reported by the Independent.

Star agent Mino Raiola, who represents some of the biggest names in world football, is the mastermind behind this deal, which will see both him and Pogba receive 20 percent of the total sum agreed between Manchester United and Juventus.

Pogba will earn wages in around $385,000 per week, which will make him one of the highest-paid players in the world, putting him in the league of players like Wayne Rooney and Neymar.

Manchester United fans around the world are excited about the arrival of one of the brightest young talents in football today, and many former club players have also expressed their happiness for the return of their prodigal son.

But Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, who currently works as a TV pundit, doesn’t seem to be satisfied with the financial aspect of the deal, asserting Paul is not worth the money despite having immense talent.

“For that sort of money, you want someone who is going to score 50 goals a season like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Pogba is nowhere worth that kind of money yet,” said the two-time UEFA Champions League winner.

“Okay, he has gone on to great things. I think certainly there has been a lot of improvement. He needed to improve if he is going to be a player worth £86m($110m),” Scholes said regarding the opening offer by Manchester United.

“He was a very talented young player, I played with him and I knew how good he was. He played for the first team maybe once or twice, but from my understanding he was asking for too much money.”

“For his age, he was asking for far too much money, that too for a player who hadn’t played first team football.” he added.

Despite this criticism by Scholes, Manchester United will be getting a diamond in the form of Pogba, and the new TV deal in the Premier League, which will ensure crazy sum of TV money for the clubs from the coming season, is believed to be responsible for the inflated prices of the players.

Pogba, who has earned 38 caps with his nation France, has made over 180 appearances for Juventus and Manchester United, scoring 33 goals in the process.
