We haven’t seen Tobey Maguire grace the big screen in a while, and now he’s back for The Details. The movie is full of infidelity, blackmail, and murder and is directed by Jacob Aaron Estes.

The Details first emerged at the Sundance film festival earlier this year, and then it appeared to disappear for a while before resurfacing in this new trailer.

The synopsis for the movie might be a hard sell. Here’s the short version:

“When a family of raccoons discover worms living underneath the sod in Jeff and Nealy’s backyard, this pest problem begins a darkly comic and wild chain reaction of domestic tension, infidelity and murder.”

Yes, you heard that correctly; it is actually a movie about racoons that lead to big time real-world tensions.

While the movie’s synopsis might be a hard sell, its sheer star power shouldn’t. Here are some of the big names appearing in The Details. The film stars Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Kerry Washington, Sam Trammell, and Dennis Haysbert.

This may be the type of movie that becomes huge because people really want to satisfy their own curiosity. It could also be the type of ensemble flick that spends more time gloating on its actors than it does actually creating a coherent and worthwhile storyline.
