Kristen Bell? Okay With ?Dax Shepard? Sharing Vasectomy Story, Offers Update On ?’Frozen’ Sequel??

Kristen Bell had no idea that her husband Dax Shepard had a vasectomy back in 2015. Only after the procedure was done did she find out. But before telling his vasectomy story on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in May, he made sure to okay it with his wife Kristen – who was totally fine with it, according to E! News.

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday, promoting her latest film Bad Moms, Bell said Dax went out of his way to make sure she would be cool with him telling that particular story live on national television.

“He’s very respectful in that regard,” the actress said. “We’re people that like embarrassment. I think it makes everything a little lighter and brighter when you can be cool about your embarrassing stories.”

It all started when Kristen told Dax that she thought she was pregnant last year, which was news that her husband was not at all prepared to hear. He panicked about the thought of having more children, as they have two daughters, 3-year-old Lincoln and 19-month-old Delta. At this point in their lives, Dax really did not like the idea of making the family any bigger than it already was. So, acting rather hastily, two days later, Shepard went and got a vasectomy.

“I had a vasectomy and Kristen was not thrilled that I did it so quickly,” Dax told Jimmy as the audience laughed. What ended up being even more funny was what Dax had to do after the procedure. The actor was required bring in a sample of, what Kristen referred to as “the specimen,” in order to make sure the vasectomy was successful.

Dax only had a limited amount of time to arrive at his appointment with a fresh sample, but he didn’t have one with him in the car on his way to Beverly Hills. This is where he got real creative. Dax was forced to produce one, inside of a jar, right in the middle of traffic on Laurel Canyon. Kristen Bell? recapped the story during her Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance.

“After you have 20 experiences post-vasectomy, you have to check the batter and see if it’s still active,” Bell said. “He had one appointment that he could make, and he was driving across town, and you have to, like, put it in a jar. He was driving over Laurel Canyon and he realized he did not gather the specimen prior to leaving the house, so he had to gather the specimen in his car on Laurel Canyon in stopped traffic. You know what? That’s a thing we did. I’m not going to attach anything negative to it.”

After that hilarious story, Jimmy then brought up the 2013 film Frozen and where things currently are with the sequel. It’s definitely happening, and Kristen says she, along with the rest of the returning cast, are just waiting to receive the script.

Frozen was a ridiculously huge hit, which brought in $400,738,009 domestically and $1,276,480,335 at the worldwide box office.

Kristen Bell’s newest film, Bad Moms, is a big departure from the animated musical. The R-rated comedy comes from the guys who wrote the Hangover series, and the premise of the movie is pretty self-explanatory.

Bell plays Kiki, just one of three very overworked moms, with the other two being played by Mila Kunis and Kathryn Hahn. When they feel that they have been underappreciated, they decide to ditch their domestic responsibilities and indulge in complete and utter freedom, and debauchery is sure to follow.

“The goal of the movie is to remind us that there are so many different types of parents out there. And that’s great, because there are so many different types of kids,” Kristen Bell told Today.

Bad Moms hits theaters July 29.
