Miranda Kerr Engaged To Snapchat Billionaire Founder Evan Spiegel

Miranda and Evan Spiegel, the billionaire founder of Snapchat, are getting married, E! Online reports.

According to E!, Kerr, best known for being a Victoria’s Secret model, shared the happy news via Instagram. “I said yes,” wrote the Australian bombshell in the caption of the photo which showed a bitmoji cartoon of the tech entrepreneur proposing to her.

Their choice to use bitmoji to announce their engagement is an interesting one. As Gizmodo reports, Snapchat recently bought Bitstrips, the company that created bitmoji, and announced its integration with Snapchat yesterday.

Us Weekly reports that the bitmoji Miranda Kerr used is a custom Snapchat filter.

“Miranda is so excited to be engaged to Evan,” a reported insider said in an interview with E! Online. “She can’t wait to marry him… Once they get married they will start trying for children. That’s something they both want.”

According to the “insider source,” the marriage proposal came as a complete surprise to Miranda.

“Evan surprised her when he proposed. It was done in a very romantic setting and he said very touching words while asking her.”

Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel met at a Louis Vuitton party about two years ago. Their first red carpet appearance happened earlier this year at a Grammy party. Spiegel later showed up on Miranda Kerr’s Instagram when she shared some very romantic vacation pictures with her close to 10 million followers.

Kerr hasn’t done too much to keep her love for the Snapchat mogul a secret. “He’s just a really kind person and very genuine and very authentic and I really appreciate that about him,” she said in an interview with E! last year. “And also he’s very intelligent.”

Even though she’s a couple years older than her fiancé — he’s 25 and she’s 33 — Kerr says that Spiegel is not your average 25-year-old.

“He’s 25, but he acts like he’s 50,” she said in a recent interview with the Edit. “He’s not out partying. He goes to work in Venice [Beach]. He comes home. We don’t go out.”

Kerr has had some high-profile relationships in the past. She was married to actor Orlando Bloom for three years, with whom she shares a 5-year-old son, Flynn Christopher Bloom. The couple married in 2010 and divorced in 2013.

She recently spoke to the Edit about some of the difficulty she’s had in finding a lifelong partner, starting with a first love who died in a car accident while they were both still teenagers.

“I was 16, and it was really a turning point,” the model says of the death of her first boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook. “I was depressed and went to a few therapists, but then I realized the only person who could help me was myself.”

After she grieved his loss, Miranda Kerr moved on to date Australian model and reality star Jay Lyon before she fell head over heels for Orlando Bloom.

Despite their divorce, Kerr says that she’s still on good terms with Bloom for their son’s sake.

“Flynn was 2, so it was really hard to make the decision,” she said of their choice to get divorced. “But our son is our priority so you have to come from love. You have to be kind.”

Now Kerr seems more than ready to settle down with her Snapchat billionaire. Us Weekly reports that Kerr and Spiegel bought a $12 million mansion in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California.

As you can expect, Miranda has already introduced her son to his future step-father and according to her, the two get along well.

“We had to know the person for six months and feel good about them,” she said to the Edit of her rules for introducing new boyfriends to her son. “Evan met Flynn, so, yeah, things are going well. Orlando thinks he’s great. We’re just a modern family now!”
