Countries Are Banning ‘Pokémon Go’: Conspiracy Theories Already Spreading About The Pokémon Game

Pokémon GO is definitely a hit game, but if you live in any of these following countries, you will be unable to take part in it. As the game is catching more and more attention, people have been injured and even killed while playing Pokémon GO. Conspiracy theories are already spreading about the Pokémon game.

One country that believes the game “encourages gambling and polytheism” is Saudi Arabia, Heatstreet reports. If you are from Saudi Arabia, you will not be allowed to participate in the Pokemon game. Religious groups are saying the Pokémon game is possessing the minds of children. In fact, Saudi Arabia’s high priest went live on television to warn parents to keep their children away from anything related to the Pokémon franchise.

Just recently on July 14, Islamic authorities in Europe banned Pokémon GO. It was claimed that the game negatively influences the minds of those playing without anyone realizing it. The game is said to be obsessive, therefore blocking people from tending to their religious and work obligations.

Pokémon GO wasn’t yet banned in Australia, but the police are urging those to quite searching for Sandshrew in the Darwin Police Station. The police also warn Pokémon players that playing the game does not permit a person to trespass and cannot be used as a legal defense.

“For those budding Pokémon Trainers out there using ‘Pokémon Go,’ whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don’t actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs.”

Russia is not taking part in the Pokémon GO trend, either. In fact, the first deputy chairman of the Federal Council’s Committee on Defense, Franz Klintsevich, feels that the game resembles the Devil.

“There’s the feeling that the Devil has arrived through this mechanism, and he’s simply trying to ruin us spiritually, from within.”

Bosnian authorities are also warning Pokémon players of the mine dangers involved with playing the Pokémon game, BGR claims. Minefields in Belarus have resulted in hundreds of deaths, and authorities claim that those playing Pokémon GO are at risk of stepping in a mine area.

“Today, we receive information that some players go into areas which are a risk for mines to find Pokemon. Citizens are urged not to do so, to respect demarcation signs of dangerous mine fields and not to go into unknown areas.”

Some conspiracy theories are already spreading about Pokémon GO. It has been thought that the Pokémon game was created to distract us from the news, which in return leads to fewer riots. Another theory about the Pokémon game is that it is an agent of capitalism. It is believed that the Pokémon game would send people to stores, which in return would make people buy things.

Of course, another conspiracy theory about the Pokémon game is that it is being used as a surveillance tool for the CIA, or possibly even Google. Conspiracy theorists believe that Pokémon GO will be used in order for Google to create maps of private areas, home interiors, and the inside of buildings not currently available on Google Maps or Google Van by tapping into user’s cameras.

Another widely recognized conspiracy about Pokémon GO is that it will be used to benefit the mobile companies by having users pay for more data. Some people think that the maker of Pokémon GO colluded with mobile carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and others in order to guarantee success and cause people to pay extra fees for going over on their wireless data.

As other theories spread about Pokémon GO and countries continue to ban the game, players are urged to stay safe and pay attention to their surroundings. Injuries and even deaths have occurred while playing the Pokémon game, and as it continues to gain more popularity, could possibly turn into an epidemic of preventable accidents.
