This November, BioWare and EA will be releasing the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3, the third and final (controversial) entry in the sci-fi epic trilogy.

As an added incentive to pick up Mass Effect 3 Wii U, Nintendo says that both the From Ashes and Extended Cut DLCs currently available on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 will be included right on the disc–no extra download required.

From Ashes was released as day-one DLC for Mass Effect 3 on all three original platforms–the Collector’s Edition included it free of charge, but those who bought the standard edition had to fork out $10. The DLC adds a new companion, Javik, to Shepard’s team.

The controversy surrounding From Ashes was originally that, well, it was day-one DLC and, according to findings, was at least partially available on the disc. Adding to the controversy was the fact that Javik–a member of the long-extinct Promethean race–added quite a lot of context to the storyline that players without the DLC simply wouldn’t have.

Said controversy was quickly overshadowed by the game’s ending, which gamers considered to be–and this is perhaps putting it mildly–lackluster at best. To address this, BioWare released an “Extended Cut” DLC, which expanded on a few sequences and even added a few new ones.

Extended Cut was only available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a free download, but it will be included right on the dsic with the Wii U version.
