#FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes Highlight Of Melania’s Speech

Maybe Melania Trump didn’t see it coming, but her speech from last night at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, is likely the best thing on Twitter today. #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes is trending, and there are suggestions rampant that the wannabe First Lady lifted significant passages of her speech from Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

One image that is currently popping up with the trending #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes is of Michelle Obama, looking downhearted, further suggesting that perhaps Donald Trump’s wife may have, either intentionally or unintentionally, plagiarized her speech.

While it is not known whether the current First Lady had her image taken for the current trending #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes, the image is garnering a fair deal of notice. In addition, some are also posting Donald Trump’s tweet of appreciation for his wife’s speech paired with a faked tweet from President Barack Obama.

Times Live noted that the accusations of plagiarism now leveled against Donald Trump and his wife Melania have potentially riled up those at the RNC, who are already in the midst of a “rank-and-file revolt.” Deadline reported that MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said, “There is no university in America that would not rule this as plagiarism.”

MSNBC’s Brian Williams offered what perhaps could be seen as the understatement of the year when he suggested that the possibilities that Melania Trump plagiarized at least part of her speech could become a “thing” by Tuesday morning. While Williams definitely could not have predicted #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes, it would appear the well-known broadcaster was not wrong.

Donald Trump’s camp did not say much about the incredible similarities between Melania Trump’s speech and Michelle Obama’s speech from 2008, though there was a statement offered by his camp about the speech nonetheless, Fusion reports.

Jason Miller, senior communications advisor for the Trump-Pence campaign, said, “In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.”

Certainly, #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes is not only just making fun of Melania, it’s offering up some great publicity for the Obama camp, who are getting ready to leave office next year after eight years in office. Time reports that First Lady Michelle Obama, in fact, is going to be heading to prime time, thanks to James Corden.

The talk show host will be visiting the White House, ostensibly for a tour, but the First Lady seems to surprise Corden when she invites him to head on a drive with her for some Carpool Karaoke.

While Michelle Obama has not offered any sort of commentary about #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes, what remains clear is that Melania Trump quite likely took at least a full paragraph from Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention.

According to Politico, Melania’s speech said, “From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect,” Melania Trump said in her speech. “They taught and showed me morals in their daily life. That is the lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to many generations to follow because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

Now, check out Michelle Obama’s speech from 2008:

“… Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them,” Obama said, according to a transcript. “And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children — and all children in this nation — to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

While several universities and colleges might argue that #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes erupted from a speech that was clearly plagiarized, it will be interesting to see how Donald Trump’s camp will deal with this current situation.
