Did Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Commit A Felony By Releasing Taylor Swift Snapchat Videos?

Taylor Swift is becoming the queen of celebrity feuds, and her latest beef is with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The Shake It Off singer is currently engaged in an ugly battle with the couple known as “Kimye,” and it could get even uglier if Swift wants to take legal action.

According to TMZ, when Kim Kardashian recorded, and then released the videos of Kanye West and Taylor Swift talking on the telephone, which she says proves Swift knew about West’s song lyrics about her, she may have been committing a crime.

It seems that Taylor found out about the video recordings of her phone conversation with Kanye months ago, and set her lawyers out to keep them under wraps. The report reveals that Swift’s lawyers sent a letter to West’s people warning him not to release the recordings, making it clear that in California it is illegal to secretly record a telephone conversation with someone. It’s so illegal that the crime is actually a felony offense. The letter demands that Kanye West get rid of the recordings and show proof that they’ve been destroyed.

“Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated.”

Of course, fans know that Kanye West did not have the recordings destroyed. Instead, the rapper and his wife, Kim Kardashian, decided to use them in their feud with Taylor Swift.

Kardashian posted a series of videos on Snapchat where West was speaking to Swift on the telephone from inside a recording studio. In the videos Kanye is reading some lyrics which pertain to Taylor and getting her input on them. Swift’s voice is heard thanking West for reaching out to her about the song ahead of time, and she seems completely fine with the lyrics mentioning her name on the track.

However, later when the song was released, Taylor Swift got angry about the lyrics in which Kanye West says he and the singer might “have sex,” also calling Tay a “b**ch,” and saying he made her famous. Swift says she had no knowledge that West was going to use a derogatory remark while referring to her in the song, and that is what upset her.

Kim and Kanye went off on Taylor saying that she was fine with the lyrics when West called her earlier that year, and a huge feud broke out, which resulted in Kim releasing the videos of the conversation online for millions to see.

Finally, Taylor Swift had to speak out about the feud, saying that there is no video of Kanye West reading her the lyrics where he called her a “b**ch,” because he never mentioned that part of the song to her.

The videos being released on Snapchat could spell out big legal trouble for Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian. It seems that the couple may face legal action for releasing the telephone call, which they allegedly recorded without Taylor Swift’s knowledge.

If Taylor wanted to file a lawsuit against the rapper and the reality star for violating that law she has every right to. It seems that the ball is currently in Swift’s court, and it should be very interesting to see what she does with it.

Meanwhile, fans have begun taking sides in the feud. Swift’s hardcore fans are Team Taylor all the way, while the Kardashian/West supporters are praising the couple for calling out Taylor on what they believe is a lie. Even other celebrities have started to weigh in on the feud, urging everyone to use their powerful voices for good by addressing real life important issues, and not to cut each other down.

What are your thoughts on the Taylor Swift feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West? Do you think she should take legal action against the couple?
