Britney Spears ‘Thrilled’ By The Success Of ‘Make Me,’ Dishes Big New Album Details

Britney Spears is said to be “really proud” and “thrilled” by the success of her new single, “Make Me.”

According to a source close to Spears, she’s “absolutely thrilled that everyone is talking about ‘Make Me’ and that it’s doing so well” and is ready to take the world by storm once again with the impending release of her as-yet-untitled ninth studio album.

“Britney is really proud of her new song. It’s all very flattering and exciting for her,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life of Spears’s reaction to the big single release, teasing that the star’s upcoming album could well be her best yet.

“She really put her all into this new album and took her time choosing the songs,” the insider told the site of Spears’ new album, which is expected to be released later this year. “She worked on it for almost two years because she wanted it to be perfect. Britney would be the first to tell you she is a perfectionist.”

Britney hasn’t exactly been shy about her excitement over her new music on social media, taking to Twitter last week to spread her delight following the big release of “Make Me” on July 15.

After a fan tweeted the star to let her know that the track had shot straight to the top spot on iTunes, Britney replied, “This is an incredible feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

Britney also spread the “Make Me” love across the pond, replying to a British radio station who revealed on the social media site that they were playing Spears’ new single, her first since she dropped “Pretty Girls” with Iggy Azalea in May 2015.

“Enjoying my morning after seeing this!!” Britney responded to British radio station Capital FM. “Thank you to all my friends across the pond.”

And it sounds like Britney has a whole lot to be excited about right now, as she’s also been teasing big new album details to E! News in recent weeks.

Britney Spears spoke to the site about her new album on the set of the “Make Me” music video last month, coyly teasing that her impending ninth album actually has a “different sound” to her past albums, which have sold a combined 33.4 million copies in the U.S., according to Billboard.

“It’s very exciting,” Britney told the site of her new album. “I’ve been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It’s my baby.”

Although Britney played coy when it came to giving too much away about more new music, Spears did admit that her new album is “a little melodic, a little more not so poppy” as well as being “kind of chill. Very chill.”

Spears also spoke to the site about a potential second single from the new album by discussing the track “Private Show,” which the popstar recently teased on Instagram to promote her new fragrance of the same name.

Britney admitted at the time that she believes the song is “really, really cool” before gushing over songwriter Carla Marie Williams.

“She came in and she’s like a wailer. She has really big vocal chops,” Britney revealed of the new song. “I was like, ‘Let’s do something different’ and do a really, really cool song for the fragrance.”

E! News also reported ahead of the release of “Make Me,” that Britney’s as-yet-untitled ninth studio album is expected to be released “in the fall.”
