Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Romantic Date, Miley ‘Holds On Tight’ As They ‘Flip Off The Paparazzi’

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are looking very much in love these days if their recent sushi dinner date is anything to go by. The on-again-off-again couple were out for a bite to eat at Nobu Japanese restaurant in Malibu Friday night, and according to People magazine, they were “all smiles” as they walked back to their car. Cyrus, 23, and Hemsworth, 26, “linked arms and giggled” together as they left the “celeb hotspot” and made their way through the usual crowds of paparazzi and onlookers outside Nobu.

The New York Daily News reports that it looks like they had a reason for all the giggling, and the source of fun was nothing to do with their thriving romance. Miley is well known for her over-the-top actions and her attitude towards people getting in her way, and earlier on her way into the restaurant with Liam, there were some “pesky, in-your-face photographers” who got on Cyrus’ nerves. Miley and Liam just couldn’t resist having “some fun” with the paparazzi surrounding them as they left after their date and just wanted some time alone. They cuddled up together, linked arms, and “gave the paps the middle finger.”

For Liam and Miley, 2016 has been an up and down year ever since they reunited just before New Year’s Eve 2015. The “Wrecking Ball” singer and Hunger Games actor had been split up since 2013 when they broke off their engagement, and the rekindling of the romance in time for 2016 was super exciting. They quickly announced their re-engagement, but almost as quickly, rumors started flying of trouble between Cyrus and Hemsworth.

Seeing them so happy together after all these months, and the way that “Miley certainly wasn’t letting go” of her hunky Australian as they walked through the crowd, was a great moment for fans, and for Miley and Liam too.

There’s lots of speculation as to whether the big diamond on Miley’s engagement finger means the couple will be walking down the aisle for real this time. The Daily Mail reports that an August wedding in Australia was talked of, but Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus (who was also her Hannah Montana co-star), said the story wasn’t true. The senior Cyrus spoke to In Touch magazine and “insisted” that there’s nothing in the works for a wedding date, either in Hemsworth’s home country or anywhere else.

“No there’s no wedding bells on the calendar. I’d tell you if there was!”

Even without plans to tie the knot, Miley and Liam are showing a lot of the signs of becoming a permanent couple, although some of the ways they demonstrate their togetherness are a little odd. Recently, Cyrus added to her tattoo collection with an ode to Liam’s “favorite Down Under snack.” Instead of the more usual heart with Liam’s name in it, or a picture of Liam’s face, Miley decided to go with a drawing of Vegemite, a popular Australian yeast-based spread similar to the British Marmite.

Now that’s got to be love! Vegemite is generally considered to be an acquired taste, though the same couldn’t be said about Miley’s sexy Australian lover.

Whether or not Miley and Liam ever actually get married, friends and family are glad to see them in such a good place right now. Billy Ray shared his feelings about his daughter, and one thing that’s the most important is that Miley is happy.

“Seeing her happy is the greatest thing ever,” he said.

“I love that she and Liam are so happy right now. Happy is hard to find. So if you’re in a good spot, woo! Bam! And Miley knows that.”

If happiness includes raising a particular finger to wave at each other, and maybe at some pushy paparazzi too, then that’s just fine with Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
