Tatyana Ali Got Married!

Tatyana Ali has married boyfriend Dr. Vaughn Raspberry according to a report from Yahoo. Thirty-seven-year-old Ali has been dating Raspberry for about two years. They married Sunday afternoon at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. In late March, the couple announced their engagement as well as Tatyana’s pregnancy. Entertainment Tonight broke the news and quotes Ali as saying this.

“Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely. We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing! Plus, I have the best wedding planner, Michael Russo. He’s making everything so fun and stress free!”

Tatyana met Raspberry through the online dating service eHarmony. She says they wrote letters for months before deciding to Skype with each other. Ali describes her fiance as her best friend. He is an English professor at Stanford University.

About 120 people were invited to Tatyana and Vaughn’s ceremony today. The bride wore a custom-made Amsale gown. Reports indicate that there were some Caribbean influences in the ceremony, in honor of Ali’s ancestry. Wedding planner Michael Russo described the ceremony.

“It was truly a magical and heartfelt ceremony. Tatyana was glowing as she walked down the aisle.”

Tatyana and Vaughn apparently know the sex of the baby, but they have decided not to share either that or Ali’s due date with the public.

Tatyana also appeared in the news a few days ago when Deadline reported that she is suing Warner Brothers. She is claiming that the TV show The Real is based on an idea she had and pitched to them back in 2012. Ali states that they declined the idea at the time and that six months later, The Real debuted on Fox. In the suit, Tatyana states that her idea was for a show with

“…unique and innovative format, which featured an eclectic group of engaging female celebrity hosts, each aged within their 20’s and 30’s … designed to pique the interest of the younger side of the mid-life/mid-career female population and featured a variety of contemporary discussion topics in a relaxed and informal setting.”

It goes on to state the following.

“The five female host panel cast members very closely embody and mirror the personal and professional profiles of the specific and potential female celebrity hosts openly proposed in writing and in discussion by the Plaintiff during ‘pitch’ meetings she held with the Executives. The Defendant Corporations did not at any time, directly or indirectly, acknowledge the use of the Plaintiff’s Concept.”

In the suit, Ali asks for unspecified damages as well as a trust. LA attorney James Leonard Brown is representing Tatyana.
