CPU Head Steve Loomis: ‘Obama Has Blood On His Hands’ For Baton Rouge

Steve Loomis is no stranger to controversy.

When the family of Tamir Rice received a $6 million settlement after the 12-year-old was shot dead for pointing an airsoft gun at police, the Cleveland Police union head suggested they use at least some of that money on gun education.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise to those who’ve heard the name Steve Loomis that he would have something derogatory to say in light of Sunday morning’s Baton Rouge shootings.

This time around Loomis had two specific targets in mind — President Obama and the media.

The politics website Mediaitereported that Steve thinks the President is partly to blame for the actions of the perpetrator(s) who executed three Baton Rouge police officers.

By pushing what he calls a “false narrative” surrounding the death of Alton Sterling, Loomis believes that the President has “validated the false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the media are pressing out there.”

He also declared that President Obama has “blood on his hands” that will never be able to be washed off.

Most of the anger from Steve Loomis and others in the pro-law enforcement community comes from a lengthy statement that President Obama unleashed following the deaths of Sterling and Philando Castile, two black men who were gunned down by police on video under questionable circumstances.

Before the facts of the case came out, the President issued a lengthy statement through the White House website that read, in part, as follows.

“But regardless of the outcome of such investigations, what’s clear is that these fatal shootings are not isolated incidents. They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.”

The takeaway for Steve Loomis and many law enforcement personnel is that President Obama automatically sides with the deceased whenever a minority is shot in an altercation with police.

The President insisted that the “vast majority of police officers are well-meaning and good at their jobs, but police “can and must do better to institute the best practices that reduce the appearance or reality of racial bias in law enforcement.”

Following the Baton Rouge shootings on Sunday, President Obama expressed his condolences to the victims and condemned the idea that violence against police officers is acceptable.

Still, for Steve Loomis and many of the officers that he represents, the President’s remarks are mere lip service.

Expect to hear more from Loomis in the coming days. As a representative of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, he will be front-and-center as the Republican National Convention (RNC) gears up for July 18-21.

In fact, he has already called for Ohio Gov., and failed Presidential candidate, John Kasich to outlaw open-carry during the RNC.

LawNewz reports that Loomis, in a recent interview, had this to say.

“I don’t care if it’s constitutional or not. They can fight about it after the RNC or they can lift it after the RNC, but I want him to absolutely outlaw open-carry in Cuyahoga County until this RNC is over.”

Kasich has denied the request, stating that governors “do not have the power to arbitrarily suspend federal and state constitutional rights or state laws as suggested.”

Concerning the comments of Steve Loomis regarding President Obama’s alleged culpability in the deaths of three Baton Rouge police officers, what do you think, readers?
