5 Craziest ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Season 5 Moments — Both On And Off Screen!

Alaskan Bush People‘s exciting fifth season just ended. While some complained about the show getting noticeably more repetitive this time around, others embraced this season as incredibly eventful. I’m not just talking about the crazier onscreen moments, either. Both fans and self-proclaimed haters of Alaskan Bush People can admit that practically every week, there seemed to be some new mini-scandal or rumor.

Put it all together and you get an unforgettable season filled with stunning revelations and unfathomable deception. While there is still heavy speculation as to what’s next for the Browns and Alaskan Bush People, Season 5 is certainly are worth a second look.

Here are five of the craziest Alaskan Bush People Season 5 moments — both on and off-screen.

Noah Brown comes across as either very romantic or a five-stage clinger that would make Taylor Swift blush. I go back and forth with him. This season saw the youngest Brown son attempt to move on from his brief fling with an Alaskan girl named Christie. To cope, the heartbroken Alaskan Bush People star seemed to move on to a lovely woman named Karryna Kauffman.

…Except, not really.

Instead, we were “treated” to Noah serenading Karryna with a song about his ex-girlfriend. I still can’t believe this happened, and if it weren’t for the video footage, I’d still believe it was a hilarious and vivid hallucination.

Before Alaskan Bush People gave me that moment, I only hid behind my hand when confronted with horror movies. It was so bizarre I’m actually grateful Radar Online revealed that Kauffman is an actress. Imagine if Noah had tried to impress a real date with a song about his former love interest? It would have gone south, big time.

With such heavy subject matter this season (jail time, alcoholism, etc.) this was definitely a much needed lighter moment.

Even though it just happened, I was still floored by this:

Until I saw it for myself on Alaskan Bush People, I’d never heard of anyone using a boat/pulley system to move an old cabin in quite that manner. It seemed very dangerous, and I was half convinced the old shack was going to fall apart. There was also (of course) a bit of boat trouble that made the project seem like it wouldn’t work after all.

In the end, everything worked out, and it looks like Gabe will have his own place. I just hope its free of asbestos.

The moment the promo dropped and we learned Alaskan Bush People would feature an appearance by Billy Brown’s eldest daughter, there was an explosion of “What?!” all over social media.

Of course, some people who eat and sleep Alaskan Bush People knew all about the previous marriage and estranged daughter. There were kudos given to the Discovery Channel for giving fans something else to talk about aside from the impending jail sentence. When Twila was finally featured on an episode, there was a little bit of awkwardness. Some speculated it was the length of time Wilson had been out of her father’s life.

We later learned that the “I hadn’t seen her in 30 years,” claim was something of a stretch. In fact, learning that the show might have lied to viewers about Billy’s relationship with Twila turned out to be more shocking than her on-screen reunion.

It wouldn’t be the last Twila-related surprise, though.

It’s hard to think anything could overshadow Alaskan Bush People’s frank, though not always forthcoming, discussion about Billy and Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown leaving the family to serve time. Yet that’s exactly what happened when Alaskans began to spill the beans about the “Wolf Pack” being as far away from Browntown as possible. The Browns was first spotted in Juneau, with some claiming they were living in cozy hotel rooms.

Things got even more bizarre as the Browns were inexplicably spotted in Hawaii. With daughter Twila in Maui alongside the Alaskan Bush People cast, some speculated that it was for a family reunion of sorts. What made this theory interesting is that it meant that the Browns were dodging another family reunion, one that was meant to bring Ami Brown together with a mother she allegedly hadn’t seen in decades.

There was even a bit of bad-mouthing of Billy by her brother Les Branson, who even went as far as to call Ami an “abuse” victim. As the Inquisitr later discovered, not only did a reunion between Ami and her family likely take place in Hawaii, Ami’s family members were allegedly deceptive towards native Alaskans about their experience and intentions. There’s also evidence that relations between Billy and Les aren’t as icy as we’ve been led to believe

In the aftermath, it appears that no one remotely connected to the Browns or Alaskan Bush People can be completely trusted. Hopefully, gossip sites leaning on these “sources” for information will be more mindful in the future.

Hands down the most stunning aspect of Alaskan Bush People this season came near the close, and that was when Matt Brown admitted his struggles with excessive drinking. First, this was a very brave thing to do. Whatever you may think about Alaskan Bush People as or the Browns, this was still very brave.

Not many shows, and especially scripted reality TV shows, allow for something this serious to be addressed on-camera. While some may cynically dismiss the sincerity of everyone involved, there’s no telling what a positive effect this could have had. Perhaps someone watching the episode decided to seek treatment.

There’s no telling how long it will take Matt to get to a place where his issues are fully behind him, although an interview with People suggests he’s happier now than he was during Season 5. It’s also slightly up in the air whether he’ll stick with his family and Alaskan Bush People or find happiness forging his own path.
