Creative — And Totally Legal — ‘Pokémon GO’ Cheats That Will Not Get You Banned

We all could use a good ol’ hack to make leveling up in Pokémon GO a tad bit faster. And these Pokémon GO cheats are totally legit, creative, and not illegal at all.

The much-anticipated Pokémon GO finally became available in dozens of countries. We’ve been hearing funny stories, inspiring new stories, and even depressing instances that have been brought about by people playing Pokémon GO everywhere. But despite all these things, there are two things that are definitely true for Pokémon GO: Pokémon GO is fun to play, and it’s time and effort consuming.

Being a Pokémon master and catching them all does come with its price, and in Pokémon GO, it’s all about time, time, and more time. Pokémon GO requires the player to go out and go around trying to find, catch, and evolve pokémon. Another aspect of Pokémon GO is hatching eggs. Collect eggs from PokéStops, load them on your incubator, and walk a certain distance to hatch them. For people who could not, for the love of Pokémon, just go around walking all day (i.e. have to attend class or work on the office), here are some of the cheats or hacks we have found to make you one step closer to your dream of becoming a Pokémon master.

Walk The Dog

If you have an egg that needs a ton of kilometers to hatch, then hurrah for you because that might be a rare pokémon! But of course, to hatch your egg on Pokémon GO, you will need a lot of walking to do. If you have a series to binge-watch or some work to do, what is the best solution? Strap your phone to your dog and let your dog do the walking.

Substitute Trainer

If you don’t have a dog, then you might need a real life trainer to do the work for you. Interestingly, there are a few Pokémon trainers on Craigslist willing to do the walking for you. Think of them like a bot program that plays Pokémon GO for you while you do your own thing, but more human.

One of the listings on Craigslist reads as follows.

“We all know you gotta catch em all, but what if your boss won’t let you play Pokemon Go while you work?? I can take over for you* during work-day hours, get you all the Pokemons and help you become a Pokemon master ASAP!

“$8/hr. of Pokemon Go gameplay
“$0.50 bonus for rare Pokemon

“CATCH EM ALL! LET ME HELP!

“*We can set up a collateral system–I WILL NOT STEAL YOUR PHONE! Also I’m a Level 14 just in case you’re worried I’m not skilled enough to help you out. :)”

Or if you want a more corporate setup, of course, there is also a more expensive but secure version. PokeWalk is a new service that claims “Let us walk your phone and help you catch more pokémon.”

How does it work? Using the PokeWalk app, you can request someone to pick up your phone and they will walk around to hatch your Pokémon GO eggs or catch some pokémon. Their walkers are even equipped with battery packs to charge your phone as they walk so you don’t have to worry about your phone dying on you. If you’re worried about the person walking your phone, the app lets you track the person so you can make sure they’re doing their part of the deal. If you don’t get what you paid for, they have a money back guarantee system, too!

Roomba-mon

Another suggestion from a Reddit user: Get a Roomba. The iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaning robots are known to be the ultimate household helper, vacuuming round the clock by navigating around furniture and clutter to clean the house. So, it works the same way as attaching your phone to the dog.

Another Reddit user, however, tested this technique and it took him around 50 minutes to get 0.1 km. If you do the math, that would take around 41 hours to hatch a 5-km Pokémon Go egg [50min x 10 = 500 x 5 = 2500/60 = 41.66]. That sounds right about how long it normally takes us couch potatoes to walk 5 km. But actually, this may also be a great tactic to use for sleeping, so as not to let those extra kilometers go to waste.
