Ice Cream Day is here and you can get free ice cream, deals and more. July is National Ice Cream month and there have been deals for the past several weeks, building up to the excitement of today. Whether saving money by scooping up one of these deals, or splurging at home on your favorite ice cream flavor, today is the day when you can enjoy ice cream without guilt. There’s no question that Ice Cream Day is a popular observance for kids and it’s a great way to spend time with the family.

President Ronald Reagan declared Ice Cream Day a national holiday in a 1984 proclamation. The date is not fixed; however, as it is always on the third Sunday of July. Ice cream is as American as apple pie, and when most people find out it is a real, national holiday, they gladly celebrate the creamy, frozen treat.

Carvel is celebrating National Ice Cream Day with a buy one, get one free (BOGO) deal. Those who purchase a soft serve cone or cup can get another one free. Carvel released a statement regarding Ice Cream Day and their decision to offer a free ice cream cone or cup to those who make a purchase.

“We’re thrilled to offer buy one get one in celebration of ice cream’s biggest holiday. National Ice Cream Day is important for us, as America’s freshest ice cream, we want our guests to celebrate the day with us. This year, we decided to take National Ice Cream day to the next level and survey consumers to get an even better idea of how America prefers to enjoy ice cream.”

Cold Stone Creamery has two offers for Ice Cream Day. The first deal is for everyone who signs up for their eClub. Once you sign up, you will receive a coupon for a buy one get one (BOGO) deal. The good thing is this deal is available year round and not just for Ice Cream Day. Additionally, Cold Stone Creamery has teamed with D-backs’ by releasing their customary ice cream for the Arizona Diamondback’s mascot Baxter’s birthday. The ice cream will be available for those who attend the game in Phoenix and is an amazing concoction that consists of two pounds of ice cream and delivers a whopping 3,450 calories.

Cumberland Farms is offering a free ice cream sandwich with the purchase of a 20 ounce Mountain Dew or Pepsi.

Tasting Table recommends some locations in major U.S. cities that are giving away free ice cream tomorrow as well as other ice cream deals. Cities include Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Austin.
