‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Stars Arrive In Queensland To Begin Filming

Thor: Ragnarok is the upcoming sequel to Thor: The Dark World and the third installment in Marvel’s Thor franchise. Much to the delight of Avengers fans, Thor will not be the only Avenger in the cast as Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will also be in the film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ruffalo has been sharing behind the scenes videos from the set of Thor: Ragnarok on his social media accounts.

One of the shared videos from the Thor: Ragnarok set featured the actor with giant Hulk hands as he ran towards the camera. In another video, Ruffalo reveals that playing the Hulk is not as easy as it seems. He even poked some fun at the motion capture suit he had to wear to film his parts for the upcoming Thor film.

Thor: Ragnarok has brought the cast and crew to Australia to continue filming, and the movie set looks well prepared to house the busy shooting schedule ahead for everyone attached to the film. According to the Daily Mail, Thor: Ragnarok‘s movie set is a multi-storey complex located at Queensland’s Warner Bros. Movie World.

Last month, the co-president of Marvel Studios, Louis D’Esposito, said that Queensland offered an amazing and diverse backdrop for Thor: Ragnarok. He said that Marvel Studios was excited to be able to take the film to an incredible locale and he, along with Marvel Studios, was thankful to the Queensland Government for helping make the opportunity a reality for the upcoming Thor film.

Thor: Ragnarok will spend $100 million in Queensland and create hundreds of local jobs during the production of the film, according to Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Marvel Studios executive David Maise. The director of the film is Taika Waititi, who rose to fame following his critically acclaimed film Hunt For the Wilderpeople and who also confessed that he is eying a cameo for himself in the film.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for a November 2017 release, and it is believed that the film will draw inspiration from the Planet Hulk comic book storyline, in which the Hulk takes over a planet after being exiled into space.

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo return to their heroic personas as Thor and The Hulk, and newcomers making their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Thor: Ragnarok include Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. Reprising his role as the villainous Loki is Tom Hiddleston, who arrived at the set with his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

According to Fashion & Style, Tom Hiddleston was spotted walking with Taylor Swift at the Sydney airport when they both landed in Australia for the filming of Thor: Ragnarok, much to the delight of their fans.

After arriving in Sydney, the famous couple took a connecting flight to join the rest of Hiddleston’s fellow cast members on the Gold Coast where they were shooting for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok film. When reporters tried to ask Hiddleston about his relationship and their visit to the Gold Coast, he politely refused to answer, yet the actor was happy to answer questions about the upcoming Thor film.

Tom Hiddleston spoke on how the passage of time in the Marvel Universe affected Loki and what his take on the character will be for Thor: Ragnarok. He noted that Loki’s attitudes have changed in this film and that both he and Chris Hemsworth are four years older than they were for the previous film, which will bring about a change in their characters.

In particular, though, Tom Hiddleston seemed delighted that his character remains a “trickster.”

“The most exciting thing about [Loki] is that he is always a trickster. It is trying to find new ways for him to be mischievous, because I love doing that, and I hope you guys love watching that.”
