Kevin Federline On Ex-Wife Britney Spears: ‘I Loved Her To Death’

The lovely Britney Spears has been a pop music superstar since her early teen years, belting out songs such as “Oops!… I Did It Again” and “(You Drive Me) Crazy” that have lived on in the music industry and in the hearts of Britney Spears’ fans for years. Her new song, “Make Me” has been released to glowing reports, and it seems that Britney’s career is on the upswing.

As often happens with child stars, once Britney Spears hit the age of majority, her good girl persona took a huge hit and was replaced by a sexy, wild temperament that caused her more than a little trouble.

In 2004, the “Make Me” singer married Kevin Federline, and the couple went on to have two boys together, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Married life was not quite the bliss either Britney Spears or Kevin Federline believed it would be, and a short three years later, only two months after the birth of their second child, Britney filed for divorce. It seemed at this time Britney Spears’ once-fabulous life was spiraling downward into a very dark place.

In an interview with ET Online, Britney Spears’ ex-husband said he’s tired of talking about his marriage to Britney. He was shocked when she filed for divorce, but he is remaining firmly silent on the details of the split.

“That time of my life, there’s so many different, like, pieces missing because of everything that was going on. That was at the, like, height of everything and you’re thrown into this thing and you’re thrown into that thing and the in-between stuff. I know it happened. I know why it happened. That’s pretty much all that I’m going to say.”

Federline made it clear he would not talk trash about Britney Spears or the time they spent together. Speaking briefly about the custody battle in which he won custody of the children he shares with Britney, he said he never tried to take them away from their mother.

“All I was trying to do was get 50/50 custody. You know, events that unfolded over time, if you want to Google them and go back and look at them, then you’ll see why it turned out the way that it did. But now, none of that matters. Everything is cool. Both of us have moved on, our kids are doing great.

“It’s all about the kids. That’s what it’s for…They’re supposed to be able to live a life that they’re accustomed to. If the shoe was on the other foot, I’d be in those shoes. Smiling and being full-willing.”

According to the Hamilton Spectator,Federline continued with his determination to say nothing against Britney Spears and the time they spent together.

“I really thought I’d spend the rest of my life with [Britney]. She talked about having kids from the start and was madly in love with our sons when they were born. It was hard for her to juggle them and work, though. Then work became my focus, recording and promoting my rap album.

“There were also a few drastic things that went down, which I’ll never talk about, but overall we still had fun. So when [Britney] filed for divorce, I was completely caught off guard. Look, there are a million things I could say about her that would make huge headlines and cause a ton of drama, but for what? The truth is I loved her to death.”

Kudos to Britney Spears for overcoming obstacles of the past and reclaiming her space as a top pop superstar, and to Kevin Federline for honoring the relationship he shared with Britney Spears.
