Xbox One S Is Getting A Special ‘Gears Of War 4’ 2TB Bundle This Fall

The Xbox One S has been billed as a console that is not only smaller but looks nice, clean, and fresh with its white exterior. We should have known it wasn’t going to be long before Microsoft found a way to dirty up the upcoming console a bit.

On Friday, the company announced that those who want to buy the souped-up Xbox One S would be able to get their hands on a very special version this fall. This new version of the console will be available when the much-anticipated Gears of War 4 launches this fall. Announced on Microsoft’s official Xbox blog, this version of the console is going to have a beat-up look and instead of pearly white, will be blood red.

The announcement says that the blood red Xbox One S will have a scratch across it as though the device had been in a fight for its life against the dangerous Swarm. The Swarm is the new enemies of humanity that will be introduced in Gears of War 4, and the console has what looks like a rather large claw mark across its front.

The limited edition Xbox One S also has the rather recognizable Gears of War logo emblazoned across its chassis. While the look and feel of the console are certainly going to draw in some fans, it’s the device’s hard drive space that will get people excited. The limited edition version of this device is going to be carrying 2TB of space, which is about twice the size of the biggest hard drives you can get from an Xbox these days.

The Xbox One S is not only going to be carrying the Gears of War 4 look, but a new controller will be coming in the bundle as well. The new controller, called Crimson Omen Limited Edition, is not just going to have a brand new look. This controller is going to have a contoured grip Microsoft says is going to be their most comfortable grip ever.

Those who are playing the new Xbox One S will also get better performance according to the company because it will have two times the wireless range when used with the new console. These controllers will also have a Bluetooth radio, so gamers will be able to use them easily when they are playing on their Windows 10 PC.

Those who are fans of Gears of War 4 and the new console will get more packed into the bundle to get excited about. Those who get this Xbox One S bundle will get a digital download of the game both in the console and Windows 10 format. The game is one that will offer cross play on both devices, and the two copies of the game carry a value of around $99.

Not only will you get Gears of War 4, but this bundle will also get you the season pass for any DLC coming after launch. This means people who buy this limited edition bundle will be able to get their hands on permanent access to multiplayer maps for private games, as well as six additional Gear Packs. These packs include the Vintage JD Gear Pack, and players will get early previews to upcoming modes.

While all of this sounds like a pretty good deal, even if this Xbox One S bundle is carrying a price tag of $449, we’re going to have to wait a little bit before we can see it in action. Getting this bundle will also give you access to Gears of War 4 a few days early. The game is due to launch on October 11, 2016, but we don’t yet have a solid launch date for the newest Microsoft console.Image
